The simple answer is yes. There are a lot of products that will take both video and still pictures. Most do one well and the other poorly.
There is only one that I have found that does both jobs well. That is the Canon S1, S2, or S3. They will take great video for as long as you have removable memory space. They use the same sensor for both video and still images. They use the same lens for both.
Many digital cameras have time limits to they Length of videos that they can record. Bad compromise!
Many video cameras have small extra sensors and lens for taking still images or they use the small video sensor to capture photographs. Bad Compromise!
