I bet he's noticed Saddam's grand-standing and probably has a rehearsed speach or two in case he is captured and brought to trial. This could only inspire more problems for the free people of the world. I know that we, the Americans, don't condone murder, but might it be better to cap his @ss and NOT put him on trial? Or is a trial the best way to set an example and for Justice to be done?

Well, from a purely pragmatic standpoint, it might be easiest to have him meet with an "accident" while being taken, or have him die in a shootout, regardless of the actual circumstances.

However, if we want to take the high road, and I truly believe we should, we need to set an example of how things are handled in a just and moral democratic situation. That means a trial. I imagine if he is captured the US could simply try him on their own, but to avoid any confusion or accusations of impropriety, we should appeal to the UN to help us set up an international tribunal and try him there, with proper representation for him and evidence of his crimes for people to evaluate.

The CIA has more than once been involved in killing someone who was considered a threat, for example, Che Guevara. While that solves the problem of a trial, I think it is underhanded. If we want to claim to be a moral beacon in the world, we need to be open and above board in everything we do. We cannot talk about human rights and freedoms if we aren't willing to actually follow talk with actions. It just makes us look like hypocrites. I am already impatient for our government to do something with the detainees at Guantanamo--the longer we deny them some sort of due process, the worse we look to the world. We definitely need to move through legal channels, even if it means forging new methods of bringing people to justice.

Take him to trial and shoot him if he starts getting preachy, make sure it's broadcast live around the world because more than half of us want to see him dead in the first place and the rest of the world needs a leeson in reality. You kill a couple thousand people without remorse and you get none from your captors. Muhatma Ghandi once said,'an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind' in this case however I think he'd make an exception...
Or, for those of us that have thought about truly cruel and unusual punishment for him, take him from his safe little hole in a mountain or where ever he is and force him through a sex change, everyone he leads would have no respect for a woman that said she was Osama Bin Laden now would they?

probably safer to shoot on the spot. but everyone has the right to a free trial don't they. Justice is a very important aspect of society. dropping a bomb on him would make you just as bad as the suicide bombers that he's inspired by the way.

one thing about this country every one has the right to A fair trial I do believe the person or persons should meet the same fate that our fallen brothers&sisters met on that sad day 9-11 but we would not be America we would be just as bad as the terrorists if we deny anybody there rights.

So many mean people here!! Come'on let him stand trial and make him think we give a damn about what he says and then shoot him. Of course, not fatally. And...I don't see anyone having a problem repeating the process. =)

Luv ya America!

Take him to trial and humiliate him in front of the whole world. He likes to talk tough, but he's a coward. He exhorts young men and women to blow themselves up for Allah, yet he never offers to do it himself. You lead from the front, Osama, not from a cave.

And take a bath...

It seems to me that America will never be able to capture Osama. If by any chance he is captured he should be shot on sight. He could be dead already!

All the legal systems in the world are for humans. For devils, they dont apply. However, kill the godfucker (mot**f**r is a tame word for him) at the earliest available opportunity...

Make him eat pork and then kill him if the opportunity arises...

Osama's probably in such bad health that he would have to be kept in some sort of prison infirmary to await a tribunal before being hanged or shot. (If he's not dead already)
