It is a man made belief, not a religion at all. The name is gotten from the name of their leader.

Bahai is a religion started in Iran a relatively short time ago. They believe, basically, that all religions are right but distorted. God revealed His will to the Jews, and then the Christians, and then the Muslims, etc., but they all changed something, so God had to try again.

They claim that Bahai is (surprise!) the last, most recent, and only pure revealed religion of God.

It's the logical conclusion of "I'm going to disagree with you but not say that you are wrong."

Bahai is a religion that grew out of Islam over 100 years ago. They have their own prophet and to them, what he has to say is of more import than the rest. I don't know off the top of my head what it means.

The Baha'i Faith is the youngest of the world's independent religions. It is based on the teachings of Baha'u'llah (1817-1892), Who is regarded by Baha'is as the most recent in a line of Messengers of God that includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Zoroaster, Christ, and Muhammad.

Baha'u'llah taught that there is only one God and one human family, that all religions represent progressive stages in the revelation of God's Will, and that humanity is reaching its long-awaited stage of maturity, when a peaceful and just world order can finally be realized.

The worldwide Baha'i community, composed of people from virtually every racial, ethnic and religious background, is working to give practical expression to Baha'u'llah’s vision of world unity. We invite everyone, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity, to study, worship and work with us to bring into reality the vision of humanity as one global family and the earth as one home.

"To be a Baha'i simply means to love all the world; to love humanity and try to serve it; to work for universal peace and universal brotherhood." - Abdu'l-Baha

"Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer to the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of thy pledge. Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech. Be unjust to no man, and show all meekness to all men. Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed, an upholder and defender of the victim of oppression. Let integrity and uprightness distinguish all thine acts. Be a home for the stranger, a balm to the suffering, a tower of strength for the fugitive. Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring. Be an ornament to the countenance of truth, a crown to the brow of fidelity, a pillar of the temple of righteousness, a breath of life to the body of mankind, an ensign of the hosts of justice, a luminary above the horizon of virtue, a dew to the soil of the human heart, an ark on the ocean of knowledge, a sun in the heaven of bounty, a gem on the diadem of wisdom, a shining light in the firmament of thy generation, a fruit upon the tree of humility." - Baha'u'llah

From Link 1, below:

"The Bahá'í Faith is a religion founded by Bahá'u'lláh in 19th century Persia. In the early twenty-first century, Bahá'ís number around six million in more than two hundred countries around the world.[1][2]

"In Bahá'í teachings, religious history is seen as an evolving educational process for mankind, through God's messengers, which are termed Manifestations of God. Bahá'u'lláh is seen as the most recent, pivotal, but not final of these individuals."

"Fundamental to Bahá'í teachings are the principles of the oneness of God, the oneness of religion, and the oneness of humanity. "

For sure it has nothing to do with Islam, even though it agrees to some of the teaching of Islam.
Followers come from all nations and countries.
I hear they have some strange social practices, but i have no details.
I am told they hate present Muslims.
Again , I say, I am not sure, but I am going to visit their web site and try to read about them. The only way of better life, is keep learning.
Thanks
