Priests and ministers stayed in seminaries that developed them to be low key, soft spoken and mellow. Their lives were transformed by adopting to the solemnity of religion prompting them not to react violently to issues that could make them angry. To get these traits, you have to study morality, philosophy and ethics in order to learn values so that you can deal with issues intelligently rather that emotionally.

It takes a special temperament to be a soother, so type A personalities, usually don't do it. Then they believe in their faith so strongly that they truly believe there is a higher power and a better purpose. And really when you think about it...what's the thing we get freaked out about the most? Ultimately it's about dying..and they are blessed with the feeling that dying isn't that big of a deal. That these bodies are vessels and our spiritual self will live on and they'll get to meet their Lord... If you don't have it, I don't know that you can attain it. Just live in the moment, Don't fret about what's done that you can't undo and don't worry about what hasn't happened yet that you don't have any control over! Their secret is they believe in the higher power and that decisions are basically out of their hands. Which is fantastic! Because ultimately it's true - if someone runs a red light tomorrow you still may end up in the hospital whether you worried about it or not! So don't worry!!

The key to such inner peace is faith. When you can accept Gods will......realizing that everything that happens is a part of His plan.....and that He knows fully what He is doing.....then, you will know the same peace.
Any notions we have of being in control of what happens in this life, is just plain wrong. Yes, we do have the free will that God grants us. But, trust me....He calls the shots. We might as well accept the shots He chooses to call. There is no point to worry, or to fret about things.

Someone is going to show up and say they have God on their side, but that's not the answer either. What makes you think they are like that all the time? Most are not worry-free or stress-free at all.

Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding..."
II Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
No secret, really. Anyone with a close, personal relationship with God can't help but be at peace. He is in control; why worry? As trite as that sounds, I speak from experience when I say that it's absolutely true.
