A cup a day keeps the cardiologist away?
By DrRich
At the 2004 Canadian Cardiovascular Congress last week, investigators from Quebec City reported that consuming cranberry juice increased HDL levels by over 7%.
They studied 30 overweight men with modestly elevated LDL cholesterol levels. For 16 weeks, the men drank increasing amounts of cranberry juice (up to about 2 cups per day). At the end of this period, these individuals were found to have significantly increased HDL levels. They also had a significant weight loss, and a reduction in waist size. There was no significant change in their LDL cholesterol levels or total cholesterol.
Researchers attributed the elevation in HDL levels to the flavenoids found in cranberry juice.
DrRich Comments:
Since cranberry juice is harmless, drinking the stuff seems like a reasonable idea for anyone looking to raise their HDL levels.
If so, the peak effect on HDL in this study was seen with about 1 cup of cranberry juice per day.
DrRich notes with interest, however, the weight loss seen in these subjects, and wonders whether something else was going on here. Cranberry juice is not known for its weight loss properties - were these men surreptitiously dieting and exercising? Did they all work for the cranberry juice industry, perhaps, and change their lifestyles during the study in order to boost business? Obviously I'm joking, but one must wonder whether the HDL benefits were all due to cranberry juice, or to whatever caused the weight loss. If that, too, is due to the cranberry juice (and DrRich is hard pressed to figure out how that would be) then the stuff is the magic bullet we've all been looking for.
So, go ahead and drink cranberry juice, but the mainstay of raising HDL levels is still weight loss and exercise.

Thc is fat soluble which means you cannot flush it out of your system with any water... which is basically all cranberry juice is.. it will take a couple of months for it to leave your system completely.

No. Generally, a person who smokes weed yet leads a healthy diet and exercise lifestyle (not likely...) will have it out of their system in 1-2 weeks. A month is the longest it stays in the system. Drinking lots of fluids, perferrably water, and waiting it out will remove it from the system. Also you can get cleansers from GNC, Vitamin World, etc. to remove the THC from your system.

thc caused from pot i.e. marijuana can stay in your system up to 30 days if you are being tested by urinalysis. Now yes, there are a number of things you can do to "cover up" i.e. DILUTE the thc, but it will still remain in your system, and NO cranberry juice won't do it for you.
Now, keep this in mind, thc remains in your hair for up to 10 YEARS, yes 10 yrs, and YES if they want to spend the extra funds to do the hair follicle test, IT WILL SHOW UP no matter what you do.
Simply put, say NO to drugs.

It's a cleansing food, especially for your kidneys. Don't over-do it. It can be a little too cleansing. You need a balanced diet no matter what.
