A pickle is a cucumber that has been pickled in brine. A gherkin is the same thing except the cucumber has been pickled when it is still young, 1-3 inches. Gherkins are usually crunchier.

There is none. A gherkin is a type of pickle.
It's a different size, etc of cucumber, that's all.

a gherkin is simply a smaller species of cucumber. Pickles are the size of corn dogs, whereas gherkins are about the size of vienna sausages.

Gherkins are baby cucumbers usually used to make sweet pickles. Pickles are regular cucumbers used for dill and bread and butter pickles or freezer pickles.

a gherkin is actually a slightly different sort of member of the cucumber family, most pickles we think of are made from the standard cucumber, however the process of pickling can be done to beets, most any veggie thats not real soft, peaches, and so on, its a vinegar based broth you put on something that creates the pickling.
