If you belive smoking marijuana (responsibly) is a God given right should you be prosecuted for it? and if the christian religion as a whole was to accept smoking marijuana as practice (not forced, just condoned) would they still be able to arrest you? isnt it supposed to be seperation of church and state?....Just wondering=)

When Christ was questioned about paying taxes he asked who's picture is on your money? then replied render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, render unto God that which is God's.
In Gen 1;29 God gave man all the seed bearing plants that have seed in them as food to man.
I contend that no individual, state, or government has the right to take that which God has given.
And finally, God intended you to EAT it not SMOKE it but even so, no researcher has yet been able to define the LD50 dose (LD50 is the lethal dosage required to kill 50% of the test group) because they can't give them enough to cause death.

Acc to a documentary I saw on the issue, the herb was only made illegal in light of the fact that it was a convenient means of controlling immigrants. Indica is the original form of herb, and it is indiginous to India, where it has been smoked in a religious context for thousands of years. there is a mantra associated with it: "bum bum bolinath maharaja ki jay", which one says before taking a puff. I believe it is still legal there.
But whatever the religious sect predominance, any law can be changed by a majority vote at the right level. So, if the majority religious right came to accept herb as a bonafide substance, I can't see where the opposition to its use would come from, other than, perhaps, medical considerations. But, if people can smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol, I can't see how herb is worse. So, in your imaginary scenario, I reckon there would be a good chance that, given all the above, and the current popularity of the herb, it would be made legal.

if they did as a whole they would have to change a bunch of laws, which i guess they can these days. But the law has to come first before religion or else we would trapped in the medieval ages when christians killed many many people for disobeying god. Medieval times was really bad, hopefully the christians with all the power they have today wont revert us back to medieval times.

Its leagl for Indian (native american) shamans to use peyote, however since no one has had long standing attatchment to Marijuana, i dont think you can convince anyone, the rasta bunch seems to think its there religious right but i dont think they can be caught with more than one joint and not get sent to the slam. You cant just go and say its a religious thing.

If you move to Amsterdam.... you can smoke it for your religion, your health, fun... you can do it..... now if you do it in the wrong part of the land...... you just have to ask for forgiveness....

it grows naturally, therefore someone back in the day found that special bush & decided to burn it? go figure. it could have been.
