before 11 am Ohayoo gozaimasu
during the day Konnichawa
in the evening Konbanwa
There is no direct translation for 'have a nice day'
but at the end of a conversation you could say
kyoosukate ne! Take care.
or Gambate! Do your best, or Go for it!

Konnichiwa actually means 'this day.' (Kon = this / nichi = day / wa = just a particle, it's meaning is extremely vague! It just implies that the words before it are the subject!)
It's used for hello anytime from about 11 a.m.! (before that it's ohayou gozaimasu, and in the evening it's konbanwa.)
There IS a phrase for have a nice day, but it's VERY rarely used!
It's 'Yoi ichinichi o!'

Nichi wa tanoshii ga atte kudasai is extra of literal translation, like "a delightful please have one." that's no longer suggested, if that is what you propose. possibly if someone suggested it they could be perplexed, or they were messing round.
