Any water (including bottled water) contains bacteria. Whether you can drink water in Thailand or not would depend on the resistance level of your body to the kind and concentration of bacteria there. The other consideration is also the piping through which bit reaches you and the way it is stored.I don't have any problems drinking tap water in Thailand.

Since you are not sure, I suggest that you buy bottled water. It costs less than 25 cents US...

Water from the taps is not safe and I don't think boiling it would help. You should drink water from the bottles. Also use bottled water to wash your face and fruits. Don't forget to wash your fruits and veggies!

Generally the tap water in Thailand is not potable. You are advised to drink bottled water from major stores and supermarkets. Not from the roadside street vendors please. Even the locals know this.

Some hotels have installed own filter system so their tap water is potable. There will be explanation located at the tap if this is so.

you should never ever use anything other than bottled water to drink, clean your teeth was fruit etc... also stay away from ice. Bottled water is readily available often in glass refundable or some places will have large bottles of water that they will fill your own bottle up with for a few pennies..

Hope this helps

I clean friut with it and brush my teeth with it but I usually drink bottled water. I know that doesn't make much sense but I've been visiting for over 20 years and have never had any problems.
