It is not.God gave us the gift of love it does not mean that when you are in a same sex relationship it is forbidden.When we love it is regardless of who that person is, it just so happen that he or she is our object of affection.And besides its just the society around us that sets the rules of immorality.

If purely as a general friendship, the answer is that it is not immoral. But if it refer to sexual relationships or erotic love, then from the Islamic teaching, it is immoral and against the Islamic law.
Why?
There are many reasons. One reason is that God has created women for men and vice versa. If there is an inner urge inside a man towards his own kind and a woman towards her own kind, that is because of either three reasons:
1. That is a test from God to see whether we will accept God's rules that ordered man to love woman and vice versa.
2. Maybe the particular person has been influenced by unseen dark forces (such as the devil). Note: In Islamic teaching, the concept devil does not relate only to doing bad things. It can also refer to over-indulgence and many more.
3. Maybe there are some psychological sickness with the person who sexually in love with the same sex.
In the Quran, there is a story of the Prophet Lot who advised his people not to be gay.

I don't think it is, do you?...if so perhaps you could say in what way it is immoral in ypour opinion! Everybody and their mothers seem to have an opinion on this.

your question needs rephrasing: but if you're cheating on them and they are not aware of "IN MY OPINION" it is. If they are then if you are in a narrow minded society it still is. But if you aint then you are very lucky.

Just stay away from me with it.
