Take it from someone who is a professional friendship wrecker..... You should be glad he was good enough to you to not take advantage of you. Most guys would have slept with you and then you'd never have heard from them again. When you start out as friends one of the following situations will occur. 1) You sleep together, you continue to fall for the guy and he gets to bust a nut and you'll never hear from him again (until he wants to get some again) 2) You sleep together, he falls for you and then you realize you wish you had just stayed friends. 3) You sleep together,You both momentarily lose your minds end up getting married having a couple of kids and then realizing that you actually hate each other and (if you're lucky) divorce. Regardless of the outcome you will lose your friend. I'm sorry you've been so upset over the rejection (becuz yes that's what it is) but trust me if you push you'll only lose your friend faster. Let him go. Take some time to yourself, see other people. As hard as it is (and trust me there's nothing harder) don't turn into a psycho chick. I know you won't feel like that's what you're doing but that's how he will see it. If you do and he comes around and sees that you are freakin fantastic and he loves you as more than a friend GREAT! If not, at least you still have him in your life as a friend. If you really care about him and truly love him you should want only to make him happy. Show him that you respect what he says and instead of telling him you how you feel about him, show him. It's the hardest thing in the world to see someone you love with another person. I lost 40lbs (over a period of 2 months) when my current husband was seeing someone else. It literally almost killed me but I finally let him go. Shortly after I had finally come to terms with the fact that at least he would still be my friend, he came to me and said how foolish he had been and would I please consider giving him another chance? I did and we've been married for almost two years now. I hope you are able to take the advice of others who have felt the pain of your situation, and while I realize that everyone must learn from their own mistakes, I truly hope you will for your own sake, consider my words. Like I said, I've ruined many a friendship with sex. That's what it does. Complicates everything. I lost my best friend in the whole freakin world becuz of something so stupid as "love" and I wouldn't wish that feeling on ANYONE. Not even the stupid people that I think should die horrible bloody deaths. You may never truly "get over" him. It sounds to me like you have a REALLY good friend. Count your blessings.

Life is a roller coaster there are ups and downs you can't predict the future. Do you know that if there was no love in this world there would be no pain. Just be friends as you have been but I wouldn't harp or count on it coming to be a love relationship like boyfriend girlfriend But you never know I've been there twice Many many years ago and it stinks. Just appreciate each other for what you have know and time will tell.
Good luck Be carefull But have fun

I'm sad to saythat this may be a rejection in the kindest a gentlest possible way you can reject a friend from taking the realtionship further.
it may be that he is not interested ever in an intimate relationship with you or he may be into the opposite sex as for as intimacy goes, or he may just not be ready to have the kind of relationship that you want with him.
if you only said you like him that is a mixed message to a guy especially after 3 years as friends. you need to spell it out to him that you would like the relationship to progress to beyond friends to a proper boyfriend girlfriend (assuming you are female with a screen name me it's hard to tell) romantic relationship. I hopoe he responds in a similar fashion.
he may just be scared of commitment though, you have not said how old the two of you are, but typically guys under 30 are scared of commitment and responsibility.
sad to say but your going to have to speak to him and clear up the situation one way or the other or forget him and move on there are plenty of us good single guys outhere just waiting to be found.
have you considered he may have someone that he has kpt hidden from you partner of sorts already?
good luck i hope everything works out for the best.

Its a rejection, obviously this guy doesn't have the balls to say the samething to you. What a fool, your probaly beatuful, and smart and ****, and this guy can't even get up to the plate and proclaim his REAL feelings.
100% he is probaly hiding from his real feelings. You do not need to cry, your a great person. Just do what i do when i'm upset, take a walk, listen to some music, talk to friends, w/e u can to get u through this!

i wouldn't take it as rejection, but usually when you've been friends with someone that long they feel as if you're a sister or brother to them. maybe he feels to close to you to date you. dating might bring ya'll father apart. i would continue to be his best friend and talk to him about the situation
