Kids now are more complicated in thinking and they know more things in their earlier ages, due to the exposure in all the medias.
The society is more open-minded, so kids are also more open-eyed

I believe that kids today have received instant gratification more often. They don't have to work as much or wait for anything. They are less active due to play staion and other things, and there are many more single parent households and the discipline is not there. I couldnt ever get a babysitter in my neighborhood because none of the kids woke up before noon and they didnt work but drove cars as nice or nicer than mine. I think there are some issues here.
I also have noticed a lot more disrespect and more rudeness. Too many watch MTV where rudeness to others is considered cool I guess.

I suppose I think about the kids same way my parents were thinking about the kids at their time and their parents.... and so on. Kids today seem selfish, uncaring, not educated enough, uncultured, but..... that's exactly what my parent generation was saying about us. And I know that my generation contributed significantly to the evolution of our race, to the arts, culture, science and technology. When needed we came to the plate and took care, helped, sacrificed.
I think today's kids will do the same. My generation had the Beatles, Rolling Stones, by the way...

Lack of respect for themselves, what they have, and for their elders. No one in any position of authority is allowed to discipline them so they run over us as,teachers, bus drivers, wht have you.DO NOT BLAME IT ALL ON THE PARENTS!I am soooo sick of that excuse!I have 3 kids growing up in the same house and they are 3 different kids!Absolutely different as can be.Same house, same rules, same discipline(yes,I discipline!)Praise when earned. This just seems like a big IT'S ALL ABOUT ME! generation.quick gratification without earning anything.

the kids of today are exaclty like the kids of yesterday in that they need respectful parenting, wholesome parenting, intelligent parenting, loving parenting, fair parenting, supportive parenting, and the best darned parenting that's available considering that there are so very few good, qualified, knowledgeable parents now and back then. if kids today are rotten, they were raised that way - just like us kids were back then and if todays kid is good they've been raised that way!

today's kids do not know the word "no" nor have respect like we did when we grew up. that's why you hear more about drugs, drinking and other stuff about kids now days..i say teach your children how to respect others and themselves.

These days, they don't get to be kids for very long... too much pressure on them to learn & grow too quickly... school-wise.
