It's completely fair. When you're 16 - you could do a part time job and earn your own cell phone.

At age 10 you shouldn't be worried about using a cell phone and your dad shouldn't be worried about paying for it. At 16 if you really want one you can get a job and learn to control your use and pay for it yourself.
Go outside and exercise by going to a friends house to talk to them or meet up at an activity. 10 years old is just not old enough to understand the responsibilities that come even with a cell phone.

Sorry sweetie, but yeah it's fair. I know that to you it must suck and i feel for you, i can't do a lot of things either because im still 17. But do you really need a cell phone?? At your age, i doubt it. And you should consider how much a cell phone costs, they are expensive.Be glad your dad will at least buy you one at 16, i had one at that age but i had to pay part of the bill with my allowance.

yes, that's more than fair. if you were my kid i wouldn't let you get a cell phone until you had a job so you could pay for it yourself. you're 10, why would you possibly even need a cell phone? just think, you only have 8 more years of dad making the rules, then you can move out and run your own life and pay all your own bills.

Yeah. You should be playing with Barbie dolls, not thinking about a cell phone. At least your dad said 16, I could not get my own until I paid my own bill. Look at it like this, the phones will be much better when you are able to get one. Be a child and listen to your parents.

It's not only fair, it's justified. At 10, you have no need for a phone. Most people I know are grateful enough if their parents get them a phone while they're in high school let alone before that.

It would be fair if your dad said he would never buy you a cell phone and if he refused to allow you to buy yourself a cell phone until you were an adult.
The very fact that you think it could possibly be "unfair" for your father not to buy you something you don't need reveals a spoiled attitude and if your father were to continue to spoil you in such a way, it would be child abuse.
Good for your father. You'll thank him one day.

I agree with most everyone else. Wireless mobile phones are an adult item that requires resonsibility and are really not for pre-teen kids. You should be old enough to have a job and get one so you can afford these luxuries yourself without having to depend on your parents to pay for it. Your parents go through enough financial burden just supporting your daily life. Just wait a few more years. It ain't gonna kill you or make you less cooler than the other girl who may already have one!!

In my honest opinion, yes, it is. You do not need a cell phone at 10 years old. Yes, I know everyone else has one and you want one too... wait until you get a bit older.
