People weren't put on earth. We're the result of the right conditions at the right time. Purely accidental. The point of life, however, is to survive, reproduce, and advance mankind.

Well......thinking that some magical thing just snapped his/her/it's fingers and made a universe is quite....odd...but whatever....
I was actually watching some thing on TV not too long ago that was looking into the idea that some kind of bacteria survived a long trip through space and crashed onto this planet and life evolved from that....that idea is almost as randomly unlikely as the god snapping of the fingers.
Personally, I don't think it matters how we we're here...we're human beings and we need to start worrying more about survival than why we're here. We'll never know why we're here, so what's the point of trying to find out right? Just live your life how you want to...be a good human being to other human beings (as it should be), and believe...whatever it is you want to believe, it shouldn't matter what others believe.
By the way...to say that there is no point in living if there isn't a god....do animals believe in god? Who knows, but they probably don't...and you don't see them commiting suicide over it...they just want to live...would that really be so wrong?

Someone else asked that same question a few thousand years ago. He was the king of the wealthiest nation on earth...he was wealthier than Bill Gates at the time. He had resources beyond what any of us could imagine.
God granted him one wish. The man asked for wisdom, and God gave it to him:

To worship Mumbo Jumbo, who requires you to rub blue mud in your belly button as a condition of going to heaven, That is the only reason at all.
There will be much gnashing of teeth, when the day of judgment comes, from the unbelievers who mistakenly believe that they, and not the blue bellied believers will rise to sit at God's side. Yes, the hell of unbelievers will be filled with waling infidels on that great day. All hail Robert A. Heinlein, the great prophet, who even today sits on the right side of God, and awaits the judgment day.

I think you need to ask yourself what can i do for this world for the betterment of society. Thats better than asking why your here on earth. Your alive right? Just make the best of it. You'll realize when you get older, how precious life is. And to think im still 20. go figure :)

im not too sure how to interpret my answering predecessor...
but anyway, it is said in the bible that God created people to take care of his creation - in escence, to be like Gardeners of his entire earth. We weren't born to just sit around relaxing, but neither were we to work to the point of exhaustion all life long and die.

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. This life is also to decide where you end for eternity, no matter what religion you subscribe to.
