Brand perception...Even though they are essentially the same vehicle, the consumer perception is that GMC is a higher quality brand.

In the General Motors hierarchy, GMC trucks were always priced higher than Chevrolet because they had a higher trim level (better quality, or more standard features), the same as Oldsmobile was more expensive than Buick, although they were pretty much the same car.

Now that Cadillac is in the game with their Escalade series of SUVs, GMC is priced in the middle between Cadillac and Chevrolet.

GMC = more money, same car. << sucks, some options.

Chevy = less money, same car. << kicks a**. you can add those options here too. Looks nicer than that stupid gmc logo.

GM makes good suv's but they suck at everything else. They are going on a loss now a days. I think the company will be bought off by Ford. By 2015.

GMC is the companies flag ship brand so it will cost more then a chevy.

Name badges. The front grill "GMC" enameled badge is more expensive than the Chevy badge.

GMC may have a couple of options that the Chevy doesn't.

That's about it.
