It has been my experience that either the owner of the dog is not aware or just doesn't care what his dog is doing or will flat out deny that their dog would do such a thing.....anyway, first politely inform the dog owner that his dog is defecating on your yard, and if you can get a picture of the dog in the act as proof that would be great....and if there is no attempt from the owner to remedy the situation then you could scoop the poop up and toss it onto his yard, or catch the dog and call the ASPCA. But the best advice is "GOOD FENCES MAKE FOR GOOD NEIGHBORS!"

Talk to the owner of the dog first, if the owner is unwilling to listen send him a letter preferably certified so you know he gets it. In the letter tell him that there is a leash law (I hope your area has one because if not there isn't anything you can really do other then catch the dog and turn it in to animal control) Tell the owner since there is a leash law you plan on reporting the dog each time you see it loose. Tell the owner you don't want to turn the dog in to animal control but since the owner is unwilling to work with you on the problem you have no other choice. Either the owner will stop letting his dog roam or you will need to start calling AC when you see the dog out. If the owner has to bail the dog out of AC once or twice he may learn to keep the dog at home. Or give the dog up to the AC, which depending on the particular AC may be ok for the dog or not. You might want to find out about that as well before turning the dog in.

get you a powerful pellet gun and shoot it every time it walks in your yard, you don't have to use full power of the gun. if its a pump up rifle just give it enough pumps to really sting the dog. after a few times of this the dog wont come back into the yard. i know i have done this to my neighbors dog several times. meaning different dogs they have had through the years. and will stop them from coming into the yard as well as barking late at night. its also good for keeping cats out of the yard.

Yes, you can put up a fence to keep other Dogs out of your yard. It is my experience that people who allow their Dogs to run free either don't care about their animals, or are very rude to allow their Dogs to poop in anothers yard. I understand your frustration, but a fence is the best solution to your Problem.

To Sonny and Ronald,

Rat poison and guns are not humane deterrents to stopping dogs from pooping in their neighbors yard. Try to give advice in a more positive way or just do not say anything at all.

Zephon, just ask your neighbor to kindly remove his or her dog's poop or just remove it or hose it down yourself. Just think of it as free fertilizer for your lawn.

I had an similar problem, i did not understand who's canines it became. I were given some black and pink pepper and sprinkled it around the fringe of my the front backyard. A canines's nostril is amazingly comfortable and they don't like the scent of it, it burns their nostril. they're going to bear in mind which backyard it became and could no longer bypass in it back. It does take distinctive the peppers in spite of the indisputable fact that. I actual have finished this about 3 diff... circumstances, 3 diff... canines. If that doesn't be awesome for you call animal administration. good success!

yes there are chemicals, you can buy this powder to put where ever the dog usually poops, you can find it at hardware stores. When i bought the stuff (also for my neighbors dog) i found it at orchard supply hardware.I don't think it will harm the dog, unless he eats it of course.Other wise it just smells bad to dogs.

You can put up an invisible dog fence or a high frequency sound that only dogs will hear. The high frequecny sound is probably much cheaper.
