I am bringing my wonderful kitty to Thailand next year because I am living there for a whole year. I want to fly him with me. Do you know if I will have to quaranteen him before the flight? Also, what are the conditions like on the plane for him? He is pretty strong and not nervous, but I don't want him to be traumatized! Any advice for this... thank you

Contact your vet, they can find out for you what paperwork you need, and there will be a lot.
Plan ahead!!! Some things have waiting periods and time restrictions.
Everytime someone gives you paper, or tells you you need a paper, ask what the time limit is. All of these papers will have time limits. You have to plan carefully, they will seize your cat if everything is not done correctly.
I am "Quarantine girl" at the Vet clinic where I work. I am a minor expert in transporting pets. I've never dealt with Thailand though, sorry, thus the "minor"

different airlines have different policies...most require the pets to ride with the baggage..although a few will let you place a small carrier under a seat. All airlines require a health certificate from your vet, usually has to be done within a couple weeks to a month before you leave. Your cat will need to have a physical and have all it vaccines current. Your vet will also know if Thailand has a quarantine period after it's arrival there. The vet may suggust tranquilizers for the cat depending on how long of a flight it is. Good luck.

I took my furry friend to the middle-east with me. You have to get all his shots done a month before you leave, if not, he has to stay in quarantine for that time. I did that because I left taking her to the vet until the week before I left, and it cost me 500 quid in cattery fees. He will have to travel as "excess baggage", so he will be weighed by the kilo and you will be charged accordingly. Vets don't recommend using tranquilisers, only in extreme circumstances. The animals travel in a special little section in the baggage area, and someone will deliver him to you when you arrive. The airline are strict about carriers, they prefer strong plastic with good locks. Put a bit of carpet down for him and water in a hamster water tube, as it will just spill out of a normal bowl. No food, as he may get nervous and vomit a lot. Call the airline for any more specific conditions. My cat is very clingy and generally a bit of a coward, but she came through ok. She was skinny from pining away in quarantine, but she perked up again once I took her home.

Keep him in a traveling case covered by a blanket so he doesn't get to scared and once you guys sit down take the blanket off and sit him on your lap. I know that one of the side efects is throwing up. Sorry about that fact it's sad isn't it. My mom said I can get a dog when we move in like a year. I'll be graduateing in that year so theres like no point! hope you guys have a safe trip!

talk to the airline well ahead of time and see about bringing him on as carryon luggage that would be the only way I would possiably fly with a cat.

He might get sick on the plane ride. You can't take him with you on the plane. He has to go with the baggage. Also just take him to the vet's and ask him/her.
