Shiva meaning "One who purifies everyone by the utterance of His name" or the Pure One.
Shiva is one of the Trimurti (i.e trinity"). In the Trimurti, Shiva is the destroyer, while Brahma is the creator and Vishnu is the preserver.

It is question of Faith... if one has faith Shiva certainly removes the sins, but not in a magical way but with great penance and meditation.
We hindus dont hate Jesus...as christians are hateful to all other faiths... this is really very sorry state of affairs in YA

Yes.Shiva the destroyer,Vishnu the preserver and Brahma the creator are Hindu trinity.Hindus take the name of Shiva in "five lettered hymn" and Vishnu through the "eight lettered" hymn"

The soul is the consciousness or the knowing principle in man.
The mind belongs to the category of matter.
Siva is the soul & Parvathy is the mind.
The conciousness is the reality,the unchanging,unmoving,all prevading soul.
mind being matter is changeable and real.
siva takes one beyond the three bodies(Tripura),gross,subtle and casual that envelope the jiva or the embodied soul.He is hence the Hara or the remover of all the evil and the ideal of renunciation.Therefore we hail 'Hara Hara Mahadeva' or

Shiva does not purify me! Jesus ,and only Jesus, purified me from sin. God loves us all and wants us to come to Him through faith. You really need to change your thinking, cause any old idol is not gonna get you to Heaven..only Jesus will. I pray you wake up in time.
