actually most people beleive because they were raised to beleive. and to NOT beleive is strange to them because theyve lived with it their entire life.
peopl, im sure, take it seriously to some degree. but most beleive simply because chriatianity gives an empty promise of heaven. were there no promise of heaven no one would believe.

Yes I do, Without faith we cannot take it seriously because we will not really believe in it. That is why some kids raised in the church as soon as they become adults fall away because they were never really there to begin with. They went though the motions and pretended and their parents were lulled into a false sense of security and never really made sure of where their kids were in their faith. It will either be the best decision you ever made or the worst mistake. Forever is a long time to gamble with.

The belief in God is too serious a matter to take the word of another person. I acknowledge God as being real because I really believe it.

You hit the nail on the head because the truth is most who believe in God do so because this is what they've been taught from childhood! We don't think our parents would lie to us. And the truth is they wouldn't . But they could be wrong (deceived). Rev.12:9.
I know the life of God is real. I had to prove it for myself. Each & every christian really should do the same.

You've got it. They believe because somebody told them to and they read it in the bible. This convinced them that it is a good thing because they will be rewarded if they do and punished if they don't.
Christians believe for the reward. They often forget that Jesus wanted them to live a certain way but they think that they will receive this reward by simply saying they believe.

One may start out by hearing but deep inside all do know God is real. In my opinion those who do believe accept the truth and those who do not are content to accept other than the constantly consistent truth. For me so simple yet so almost beyond comprehension.

I believe because of an spiritual manifestation that took place in my life and also a personal relationship with him. I take God very seriously because he takes me seriously especially my life.

I thought I took it seriously when I was an Episcopalian.
Doesn't hold a candle to being Eastern Orthodox Christian. Serious isn't the word. Reality shift is a better description.

Um, SERIOUSLY!
