If anyone would sincerely talk about Mormon Religion and their Doctrine I would like that. Please no bashing or anything negative. Be prepared with facts not second or third hand information. I am a Latter-Day Saint Theologian.

I'm not looking for information I would say it's more of a search for a study buddy thing. I feel like people aren't reading my question, If you present second and third hand information, I look at it like your a mindless drone. Plus if you have noway for me to answer your questions it tells me that your afraid of someone proving you wrong.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If you would like, I would be more than willing to chat with you about the LDS religion and give you my insights, and what I know about the church. :D Thanks for asking by the way.

email me, I'm LDS. I'll try to answer any questions you have. You might like going to lds.org or mormon.org. If anyone comes hear and says something like "they teach that you need multiple wives to get into heaven" is definately ignorant.

I'll see what I can do here. We believe the true church was lost on this earth about the time of the death of the last apostle (I think.) In the early 1800's a young man prayed to learn which church was the true church, and learned that the true church was gone. The "Mormon" church is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. And yes, we are Christians. The only arguments I have ever heard trying to say we aren't Christian are totally fallacious. Christian means believing in Jesus Christ as the Messiah. There's my short summary.

Kudo's to you for your sincerity!

I am a very "mormon friendly" ex-mormon. The rest of my family is devout, and I continue to embrace the LDS culture. I respect your faith and beliefs and I understand how important the church must be in your life. I am grateful to the church for being instrumental in my life for decades.

I have found that in order for LDS and non-LDS people to dicuss or debate the church, all parties must be completely objective. It is necessary to invite a positive spirit. Its all to easy to end up with tension where the discussion turns into an abrasive and non-productive diatribe.

I had already spiritually left the church when I began asking for debates, similar to how you have done with your question. If you aren't ready to leave the church, you might want to consider that you are flirting with the point of no return! If you aren't ready to leave the church, don't invite this type of forum. Leaving the church was the most difficult decision of my life.

When I left the church, my entire social circle collapsed. Be careful asking for debates and discussion like this- If you are truly a theologian, you are intelligent enough to discover some very objective evidence, from reputable LDS sources that may unsettle you.

Please think twice about it and email me directly if you want instructions on how to obtain the non-published evidence- (all of which I obtained directly from the Church Archives, adjacent to Temple Square in Salt Lake City).

25 Years Sincerely LDS

It fascinates me how some present religions ignore their errors to attract more followers.

Like the WatchTower announced past "end-time" dates and no nothing happen. Jehova'sWitness don't even believe in the same Jesus most Christians do, yet they knock on my door to tell me they are as Christians as I am. Don't they say church denominations are satanic? I'm not inventing this, anyone can confirm it.

Anyways, the same story on mormons. For example there many things the mormons are founded on. One of their foundations argues that Native Americans were really blood relatives of Israelites that came from Palestine.

New DNA technology was tried to prrove the connection but instead it prooved there was no relation between Native Americans and anyone from Palestine, Israel or the surrounding.

I am not a Mormon, nor a member of the LDS Church, but I do have a copy of the Book of Mormon and had sit downs with Elders from the local LDS church, I tell you this, they are not brainwashed. I will also say that in reality their church has no hidden hocus pocus like the others.

Talk about contradiction, look at the Catholic Church.... that is where Contradiction begins!!! oh and the Church of England....

Actually I have a question... email me if you can explain... What's the deal with the thinking that tattos, not dressing properly or other completley irrevelant nonsence means that you can not worship the lord? What about homeless people? Technically they are not allowed or welcomed into your churchs or "temples" right? This is the only thing that I don't understand about the LDS.

If you are LDS, then you probably know these already, but these are the articles of faith. They basically summerize, well, what we believe.
1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

I hope this might be of help to you. What sort of information might you be looking for? If you clarify your question, I'll edit my answer to help better answer your questions.

Good for you guy. But I don't think you will find many people that want to have an honest discussion. They just want to mock and point fingers out of ignorance. The Church is true, I know it, you know it, God knows it, and someday everyone will.

they like to make up books in the bible, thats a fact. the bible also clearly states that anyone who takes away from the bible is going to be punished severely. another fact is that they hunt people down like meat and force them to believe what they do by "befriending" them, then making them feel like they are loved and slowly ease them into their cult like tendencies. They also have to wear a "special" kind of underwear. If you read the "book of mormon" you see that the whole book contradicts itself, its quite silly. whoever wrote it wasn't very bright, because they cant remember what they originally wrote.
