ceramic on the walls and porcelain on the floors...

ceramic can come in many styles and can even resemble natural stone without the ware and tear

porcelain can be used on the walls but is thicker and thus heavier which makes the process of setting take longer

for the floor it is best because it is strong enough for everyday use again porcelain can come in many styles and can even resemble natural stone without the ware and tear

just make sure to avoid using cleaning products with abrasive ingredients... ie avoid scrubby bubbles!
try Lysol foam and spray
even rough looking tiles have a protective finish and once you remove that you will be toast

also to cut down on mold and mildew use a fan for about 10 to 20 min after a shower to remove moisture
