Ultimately, all religions are somewhat judgemental, or better put, narrow minded. ALL RELIGIONS. whether the religion is christianity, islam, judiasm, hinduism, taoism, buddhism, or paganism, there is a lot of prejudice against outside philosophies. i think it derives from fear of conversion, and a way to say "this is right. that is wrong. enough said," while avoiding a real answer as to why it is wrong.

also, if you're talking about christians prejudices against gays, ect., i think it's just because that's what they've been taught. i personally think that the taboo was created by the church, but that's just me. if i'm not mistaken, homosexuality is considered taboo because it is "unatural". for the same token, there are churches which do accept homosexual members and hold no prejudices against them.

AND to other people ragging on her for being "judgemental": these are preconcieved notions she has recieved from meeting christians., you may not be like this, but you have no met her. she's asking a valid question. and she's not picking on christians. coz in the US...i'm assuming she's american...christianity is the predominant religion. if it were islam, it would be the same question towards islamic prejudices.

YEH.
i don't know if that helped but i hope!!

Those people may think they are christian, but are not really true christians. If they were, they would know that judgment is up to God, that's his job, not theirs. They do not know what the other person has endured, or what hardship they may have had to overcome. I think there will be many surprised people after they die. It is not necessary, but it is futile. I am not afraid right now, but everyone is afraid of something, sometime. Anyone who claims they have never been afraid, have not lived.

Depending on the manner in which it is said, most statements aren't judgements, but instead pointing out something that may get them in trouble in the hereafter, especially if it is a habit. If the tone in the person's voice is judgemental, then they should check themselves (which I will admit I am judgemental a lot and am a Christian) but if the tone is not harsh, look at it as a helpful tip.

Christians can be afraid but one should put full trust in the Lord to relieve most of the fear.

Why can't the so called "open-minded" liberals? Besides, there isn't anything wrong with having standards is there? I judge people according to my standards. Yes, it is necessary because it is our faith and values that are being spit on by left wing nutcases who believe in freedom from religion instead of freedom OF religion. Why does it bother you when we have a cross that has been up for decades and you all want to take it down because it "offends" you. Why can't you stop judging us and mind your OWN religion if you have one.

Don't worry, sweetie, just relax. No one's judging you. Did you know that in the Scripture our Lord tells us very clearly what He approves of and what He doesn't? He is the judge, not we. We wouldn't be very faithful to Him if we let every social or cultural breeze turn us, now would we? Could we return His awesome love, and the salvation that He died to give us, by abandoning His principles?
You know, everyone is at least a little bit judgmental. It goes with being human. Take it easy on us or we'll beat the sh*t out of you.

True Christians are not going to get angry with you, they are going to mourn for you.
We know the truth, and the only reason a true Christian would treat you differently is because they care about you and want you too see the truth.
God loves you:)

i like how you just stereotyped an entire group of people and judged them. talk about the pot calling the kettle black. but to answer your question, the reason you think all christians are closed minded and judgemental is because usually the weirdos are the most vocal. i am christian and i don't care what you are. i just hope you are happy.

I am so sick of people saying Christians judge everyone....I don't judge folks....if I quote a Bible verse or a portion of scripture that they don't like they get mad and they accuse me of judging them. No, I don't judge, God does, the Bible does, all I am is a messenger. Why can't people understand that???? Your problem is not with me, it's with God. If you don't like it, take it up with the Lord. Accuse God of judging you because someday he will.....

ahhhhh we are not judging people. There is a a right way to live and a wrong way. We have morals. And what's wrong with us sharing what we know to be right and wrong? You do the same everyone that feels strongly about something will share it with other people.

Christians fear the truth. Every where they turn, they see refutation of their false beliefs and yet they persist in their illusions. They judge because they are unable to truly be generous, compassionate and understanding. They condemn without research, and damn without provocation. They are hipocrytes who will be judged themselves by Allah for their crimes, praise His name.
