For me it is perfectly natural. I work from 4 PM until midnight. All I have done is shift a natural sleep pattern by 8 hours. With companies that require 24/7 staffing there are many people who have this lifestyle. People who normally work the midnight shift, they have shifted their sleep patterns even more.
Trying to maintain the "normal" sleep pattern means being less than fresh when arriving at work and quickly losing the ability to concentrate and think clearly towards the end of the shift.

I read in "Prevention" magazine a few months ago that exposure to lights at night time can be unhealthy. (I type this as a sit in the light of the computer and the lamp beside me at almost 2AM!) I don't recall the exact studies or findings, but it may have been linked to cancer somehow.

if you're getting 8-10 hours of sleep, then you're fine. it doesn't matter how long you stay up. think about it, some people work graveyard sometimes from 7pm to 3am, yet they are still healthy because they get their regular dose of sleep.

Shift workers have a higher rate of heart disease (not because of the work they do) so you may have problems down the track.

Not if that is just your natural sleep cycle and you are getting enough sleep, and it doesn't affect your ability to function in society. Then it's fine.
