If you support the war, go fight it!

Conservative leadership tends to be wealthy, which explains their tax cuts. The wealthy are happy to profit from war, but do not wish their sons and daughters to die in it. The perfect example of this dynamic is the Pretender in Chief himself, whose Daddy got him a sweet deferral from Vietnam, which he then could not even bother to show up regularly for. The closest he's come to action was having some pilot land him on an aircraft carrier so he could strut out and declare he had won the war! The rest of his chicken hawk cabinet are of the same ilk. I imagine most conservative media pundits (are you listening, O'Reilly) fit this definition as well.

Meanwhile, veterans of this war are living on the street when they return. Victims of it are delivered home in secrecy. They are mostly poor, dispropotionately black and otherwise visible minorities and almost none of them come from money.

Never fight for your country, you will get screwed everytime.

We are not pulling out troops in Iraq. Several national guard stations in several states were shocked when they got called to duty in Iraq.

Conservatism is dead, the same nutcase conservatives who are gung ho for war are war dodgers. Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh, Lott, Gramm, Buchannon, Quayle, Wolfawitz. These are the same nutcases that love war just as long as they don't have to fight it.

Besides pulling troops out of Iraq has nothing to do with recruitment. Armed forces recruit no matter if its a time of war or peace. The nutcase conservatives know that America is fed up with the war and conservatives (at least the ones left who haven't been indicted for fraud, theft, and taking bribes). People know Bush lied and they don't want any part of this war.

I want to know that too..( Note:...Update.....An Army recruitment shortfall of more than 9,700 active-duty soldiers has set back a multiyear plan to expand the nation's land combat forces by 40,000 troops to ease the strain created by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, senior Army leaders said yesterday.

The Army brought in nearly 73,300 active-duty recruits in the fiscal year that ended Friday -- about 5,000 fewer than the average over the past 10 years and well short of the 80,000 needed to generate the planned boost in Army strength. The USA military is very short due to the republicans not wanting to join the military.

Actually, we are doing fine in terms of recruiting and retention. In fact the lower recruiting numbers of a couple of years ago have turned out to be a blessing as the soldiers we did get were more mature and more committed. This resulted in the re-enlistment rates being 15% over goal.

Not only does this negate the effects of a small drop in the numbers of new recruits but this saves money because fewer soldier have to be trained.

We have met all of our recruitment goals, and in fact do not need more people in Iraq, etc, as we are beginning to withdraw.\

Where do you get your information? Mine comes from the military itself.

By the way, polls of the military conclude that the majority of them are conservatives. The pacifist peacenik liberals don't volunteer for... well... obvious reasons. In an all-volunteer army, there will be a conservative majority.
