I was born with a very unusual name and it took me a while to learn to like my name (Moss). For most of my high school career I went by my middle name "Micah", which is a lot more Normal than Moss. Later, I just learned to not care, but just curious if other people had this problem.

Nothing wrong with Moss, but I really like Micah a lot. My name is Gina. When I was a kid I hated it, but now it's ok. Not many of us around either.

I like your name, it's very simple and hard to forget, my name is rare in my country yet common in Lebanon, I learned how to appreciate it better after I learned its meaning, and since then, I loved to learn the meaning of different names, so what does your name mean? It's not the plant moss is it?

All beautiful answers. I love each one of them. Well my name is God and pen name Easyboy. Sounds pretty peculiar and thatz what i am. I am what i am. My name is what my name is. If you analyse why is it not different than what it is, i will not be what i am today. Names have got a lot to do with our personalities and traits. It is so very mystic but very true. I love mi name and thatz perhaps why i am unique. Every name has a meaning and even if the name is common the person bearing that name is not.

I have a unique name. At least, the only other person I know of with this name (as a given name, not a family name) was my grandpa. That name being Burns.

It's made for all kinds of great Simpsons references and nicknames.

Your question is a good one!
As a child (at 6 years old) I didn't think much about my name. As an adolescent ( about 12 years old) I began to experience a little ridicule, but, I was developmentally secure enough that I simply ridiculed my oppressors with some ditty about their names to satiate an equality which left me relatively free from psychological harm.
I've had some very common feelings about my name when I didn't do my very best at things (shame). When brilliant I felt very proud of it, much like anyone else does.
Now, in my old age, I don't think much about my name anymore. I'm just another page in our book of life we share.

Gave myself a Hebrew name:
Shlomoh, the original form of Solomon.
Not so rare, but it's a name that can be called out on the street, and not many people will turn their head when they hear the name

I met a kid with the name of Zyzzyx once. That kid must have been at the end of the line all the time. I don't know what it means, but I think it may be from a Native American tribe.
