I don't use any in my personal notebook or in my PC, 'cos it affected the overall performance. I use Zone Alarm (firewall) only.

Symantec corporate version is used in my office PC and it works pretty good.

I have used Symantec 2006 version and I remember it was good. Performance drop is common to all AV software.

AutoUpdate feature and familiar interface was also good.

What I liked most is when the trial version expires, you can still keep virus definitions uptodate by downloading them manually. (Don't know whether other AV software also have this feature...)

norton and mcafee take up too many cpu resources and cause many computer problems !! avg is free and works great. zone alarm is great too, but seems it is difficult for some people to figure out. totally recommend AVG, if you are using roxio cd/dvd burner, make sure you follow the link to upgrade it during the avg install or you will get a blue screen of death. known bug, but with upgrade all works well. It is firewalls that prevent you from gaming online ;-)

Norton 2005 and Microsoft Anti-Spy-ware (now Defender).
McAfee can catch most of the Junks but can not clean all.
Norton can catch and clean. Also Symantec got many use full removal patches.

Alongwitth Anti-virus using anti spy-ware is mandatory and nothing comparable to Microsoft Anti spy-ware - because its free with XP and cleans well.

Symantec Antivirus - It catches most of the crap that tries to sneak in, and it updates automatically.
