Is there anything that sounds as ignorant as "lol", "ppl", "rly", "ur", and other idiocies? What is wrong with those people who actually say "lol" when they're speaking? Do they know they sound like idiots? Is this where the english language is going?

I hardly think I'm an imbecile if I can speak and spell correctly, in a comparitive sense, of course.

Hello, Hero! I know exactly what you mean! I can't stand when people do not type with correct spelling and use of a word. Although I do tend to say "lol"...not in real life, of course ;)

Personally I do think that it sounds foolish. On the other hand, I see this as evidence that our language isn't dying. Latin is a dead language, no one uses it and no one adds to it. The internet abbreviations that people verbalize is modern day slang and the equivalent of cowabunga, cool, fo shizzle. BTW 'google' just got added to Webster's dictionary. google: to search for information about a specific person through the Google search engine.

Why is a girl always trying to change something a guy about is the real question, What if everything was changed to one person's perspective, it would be a pretty boring world!!!

That's how it is in the chat rooms or phone texts...duh!
They got used to that and don't think about it when they're actually on the computer asking or answering questions.

Its basicallly a trend. Like groove, tubular, like from back then. Mostly people do it because they are lazy. I do it to. Who wants to right call back or talk to you later, on the phone. it takes forever.
