Actually, people believe it because they want to. They don't want to have to confront the truth. I don't even find the ideas in it very compelling, mostly disgusting because I think it isn't just a work of fiction; it actually badly misrepresents the facts in a derogatory way. Blackie Bassett is misinformed, and needs to do some research on some truly scholarly sites. He seems to have an agenda. I don't support the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, though. But that doesn't address the issue of the validity of the Bible. He should read More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell. If he truly believed the Bible were a fake, he would ignore it. I don't go around commenting on scriptures I think are fake. I don't care about them. I don't think the book Da Vinci Code compares very well with the Bible. How many copies has it sold? The Bible is still around after two millenia, and has sold billions of copies in over 2000 languages. People wouldn't buy a book like that if it didn't speak to their hearts.

I don't believe the conclusions about the Holy Grail from Da Vinci Code. I think people who do believe it are dis-satisfied with the status quo and would grasp at anything that seems vaguely plausible to change the situation.
Some of these people are anti-Christian or anti-Catholic, so the "scandal" aspect is appealing. Some people feel that women have been mistreated and set aside in the church and that the conclusions give them a more equal footing and a new argument for changing the role of women in the church. And I think some people suffer from the good old fashioned "mob mentality" - they think "everyone else believes it so I guess I will too" without putting any serious thought into the issue.

yeah sure it's fake, but why did all the christians go crazy over it, which actually helped spread the story. Why did the bishop of rome personally try to tell people it's fake. It's fake we get it, stop shoving it down our brains. Man these christians' stupidity actually promoted the movie's and the book's success. I am so sorry that u are poor religion got trampled on, but then again why did some many many people like it if the church didnt have any of these scandals in the first place.
The vatican has done a good job covering up lots of dirty stuff, my congrats to your dark regime on earth. May u rule all eternity with your unending cover ups. Cheers

Read "Holy Blood Holy Grail, Bloodlines of the holy Grail and Genesis of the Grail kings" "Pagan Europe" is pretty good too.. The Da Vinci Code is fiction based on fact.. the afformentioned literature is fact.. The bible has been proven a fake, Shroud of Turren.. a fake... modern forensics have proven many things about the bible to be lies..

allow us bypass by potential of the lies... contained in the e book it says a particular window contained in the Louvre has 666 products of glass. Ooh, spooky. even as counted, it comes as a lot as about 678 products of glass. the in ordinary words "information" that Jesus became married got here from 2 "gospels" that were unaccepted by employing the church to be put in the Bible because they were written one hundred years later and were no longer written by employing an eye fixed witness. They suggested that Jesus loved Mary Magdalene (it extremely is insignificant, because He loves all of us) and that she became His spouse (which will properly be translated into significant different or sisterly love.) the theory that the guy sitting next to Jesus in Da Vinci's very last Supper is insane. you could count number up and word that each and each and all of us the individuals there are the disciples. there's a lot extra, yet want i bypass on? that's as fictional a e book as Harry Potter.

Ya..it's BS. It's a work of fiction based on far too many assumptions. Brown presents rumors and theory as fact. He relies on conspiracy theorists' willingness to believe there's always a culprit operating under nefarious purposes. Not everyone is out to get you and not everything that comes to pass is the result of some elaborate plan.

i dont know why people believe it, even the actors in the movie said,"it's just a fictional movie. don't take it literally." People these days just dont know the difference between non-fiction and fiction.
