I wouldn't do it. Too many things can go wrong and your job is on the line. If I were the company president, I would question why I was being asked when no one else in the office was.
He should be invited another time when the vice presidents and senior management has also been invited.

Depends.
If it is a large company and you are not within a few ranks of him, no. It would be out of place and taken as brown nosing bigger than life, if not laughed on. If you are close to him in position then it would be okay.
If it is a small company then it is fine. But be warned that you might be seen as a brown noser by your fellow employees by inviting the boss and not them. Makes it look like you are up to something.
If you do not do lunches with the boss, talk to the boss often, "hang out with the boss" at times, etc, then I would not do this as it would seem out of place and over the line or boundary.
Best bet is to not intermix work and home. This keeps home life happy and stress free from work. And it keeps work life in line without any side tracks or rumors floating around.

I have to be honest and say that it really depends on what kind of friends you keep, and whether or not you may still have your job at the end of it, i mean, c'mon, if your mates are anything like mine and are frequently taking down their pants in public then I dare say I wouldnt ask any President to meet my friends unless of course he was the one dropping his dacks to start with!
P.S - Gotta nearly agree with Marty above... dont you want friends at work?

Certainly, and no the brown on your nose isn't noticeable. Make sure you drink alot and impress him by telling him how he should do his job better, or maybe you should rat out the guy in the cubicle next to yours by telling funny office stories.
Now do you see why that would be a stupid move on your part?

To be honest, it depends on the personalities and attitudes of your friends, plus whether or not the Company President and his/her spouse are vegetarians.

It would depend on why you are inviting him.
Inviting the boss to dinner is a time honored tradition, as long as you do not have "sinister" motives in mind.

Yes it's ok but be prepared for everyone at work to think you're just sucking up and kissing the boss's a**.

Oooooh! This is tricky territory! As long as your friends are REALLY your friends. REMEMBER! Your boss and his spouse are going to see your friends as a reflection of who you really are! Take Care Here and Good Luck! ;-)=
