You don't have to be perfect (no one is). Just believe and have faith in God and His Son Jesus, and confess your sins.

I think you don't have to be perfect, as many have mentioned it's almost impossible for any human to be perfect.

But, you do have to try. I don't buy the whole "you can never be perfect so don't even bother trying. Just accept Jesus as you saviour and you can pretty much do as you please because there is nothing more you can do. You are in heaven no matter what you do on Earth". I just don't see that in the bible.

Jesus was perfect. I think everyone here would agree with that. But how did he do it? Born a man, raised a man, lived as a man, died as a man. He himself says it many times.

So, if Jesus had all the trappings of a human mind, body and life and he could manage to be perfect, then why can't we strive for that perfection? Why would it be "impossible"? Jesus has already shown us it's possible.

"There aren't perfect people, but in order to get to heaven you have to be born again, repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior!" And that's it? All you need do is that and then you can act anyway you wish?

I just see that too often, people acting irresponsibly or even bordering on pure evil, yet they all say they are good christians cause they've accepted Jesus into their lives.

REALLY? Why did Jesus tell all those stories then? Why write the bible? Why teach people to live a good life? IF his great sacrifice was all that was needed, then why do all these other things?

You get to heaven by following Jesus's example, not simply by acknowledging he was the saviour. He may be in your heart, but if he's not in your actions, can you truly call yourself "saved" or "christian"?

Perfect is relative -- strangely, different religions have different opinions opinions on how to get there-- and their ideas have evolved during histroy. People at one point use to even attempt "buying" their way into heaven.

No one truely knows -- I believe that it's more up to you. Almost like self grading... where the teacher has to agree too. If you feel you earned an "A" ... and you truely did... well... maybe heavens right around the corner.

We will never reach perfection. Only God is perfect. Our job here is to spend our life perfecting ourselves, knowing we will never reach perfection, but that our purpose, here, is to, each day, try to be better than the day before. Three steps forward, two steps back; three steps forward, two back. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep on keepin'on. That's all He expects of us. There isn't the good and the bad; there's just the trying and not trying.

You have to be absolutely, 100% perfect to get to Heaven. On our own that's impossible. That's why I'm so glad that I'm declared 100% righteous by the sacrifice of Jesus on my behalf. Otherwise I would have been disqualified for entrance into the heavenly realm long ago and many times over, may His name be praised forever, Amen!

There aren't perfect people, but in order to get to heaven you have to be born again, repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. So it's not about perfection but forgiveness. Thank God!

I really don't think you have to be perfect to get to heaven just as long as you believe and keep believing.

Martin S. took the words from my mouth.

Only perfection can get in and my sins are covered by Jesus blood. This is my only ticket in.

I thought only a certain number of people got in and the rest stayed on Earth....I'm pretty sure you're not going to Heaven. We just die and that's it.
