National parks are where my family and I like to visit in the US. Not into shopping or fancy type things.

Don't bother telling me that I need to know more about Italy because people don't go there for that. I am trying to explain the type things I am interested in.

There is the equavalent to a National Park at Mt. Vesuvius. You can hike to the top of the volcano.

We went to Florence and went to the Accademia museum and saw the statue of David. In Rome, we saw the collesium, Roman Forum, and St. Peter's Bascillica. Note: If you are going to Rome on a Sunday, the Vatican Museum is closed and that is where the Cistine Chapel is and you won't be able to visit it on a Sunday. We also went to Naples (I thought it was a dirty city) and Pompeii.

It's all in what you want to do.

The answer to your question is provided mainly by the cruise line you are going on. They have a list of their tours on their web site and you can get to it by clicking on each port stop, and then clicking on tours.

We went to Italy on a cruise last October on Royal Caribbean. The port for Rome is in Civitavechhia which is about an hour bus ride from Rome. Here's a web site for that port city and maybe you can find some tours of a park from there: http://www.limousineserviceinromeitaly.com/

we took a tour of Rome which included the VAtican and the Colleseum.

We also stopped in Napoli and had a tour of Pompeii. That was a great tour. Here's a couple web sites: http://www.italyguides.it/us/napoli/naples.htm

We stopped in Florence and went to the Leaning tower which was nice also. http://www.italyguides.it/us/florence/florence_italy.htm

People don't go to Italy to visit national parks, you got plenty of those in the states . . there is incredible sightseeing, like the colloseum (just for an example) . . you could stay in Rome for ten days and not see everything there is to see . . Florence has the most beautful collection of art in the world, and is a stunning city . . Naples has Pompeii (don't got that in the US) Sorrento with the views, Ischia, Capri . . you are going to one of the most beautiful countries in the world, learn a bit about what it has to offer . . .
