How do you ask a girl if she has a boyfriend without being blunt? Looking for a more subtle way so that I don't come off as being curious, when in reality I am.

Thanks

Thanks for some of the replies and I kind of knew some of them... just trying to reach down and grab the nuts between my legs to ask. I usually have ZERO problems asking a girl a question but this one is completely different.

Try to bring it up in idle conversation… “Have you seen the new pirates movie? What did you think? Did your boyfriend like it too?” That way if she says “yeah my boyfriend liked it” you’ve go a blunt answer and an out. She can tell you what her boyfriend thought and you can make some agreeable/not agreeable noises to what he thought and you come off looking like you were just making idle chit-chat rather then trying to pick her up. Then if she says “I don’t have a boyfriend” you can act shocked and roll in some complement… “Really, wow. You’re just so smart and fun to be with, I just can’t imagine someone like you isn’t with someone” Bam. You’ve go your opening… flattery works with the ladies and then she may also feel like cluing you into why she’s not taken… “I just had a really bad break-up and am taking some time off from dating” that way you know not to come on to strong, or what-ever the case may be. It doesn’t always work but sometimes it’s a good feed for more information. Side note: when making the compliment try to pick some genuine personality characteristic you really do enjoy about her. Any comment about her looks will smack too much of bar pick up lines… “hay baby, how you doing” kind of stuff really turns women off. Good luck.

I once talked to a girl for 2 whole hours at a party and she didn't once mention a boyfriend. Later on, the same boyfriend she had neglected to mention tried to pick a fight with me for talking to his girlfriend (nevermind that I didn't hit on her or say anything even remotely inappropriate).

I don't think there is a silver bullet answer, here. Asking bluntly can be awkward, while many women will happily jerk you around by not being polite enough to drop the relationship into the conversation. Frankly, I think you have little choice other than simply avoiding the question. However, you can ask things that help, such as what she does with her free time, and other things that might provoke her to reveal her availability.

And please, COMPLETELY IGNORE these idiots that suggest you directly ask or talk about your ex-girlfriends. These are total turnoffs, 100% certain to get you burned.

Very easy. Make a joke about her and say I bet your doesn't think you are this crazy.
This does two things

1. I will let her know that you think she is attractive enough to have a boyfriend without letting her know you like here and

2. You will get your answer.

Why beat around the bush. Just ask her straight out. Believe me, women like an up front man.

Try asking her if her boyfriend is taking her to the movies. Guys have used that on me before.

Ask alot of random Questions
Such as:
How are you today?
Anything new?
Dose my pants make my *** look big?
Hows the Love life?*

*put that in a random grouping of questions if she is dateing any one you should know.

Just say something assuming that she has a boyfriend like "did your boyfriend take you to see (insert movie name) yet?" or something along those lines. If she's single she'll say "I don't have a boyfriend".

talk about an activity or something that she likes like swimming or going to the movies and then say "I bet your boyfriend takes you to the movies all the time." if she has one she'll say no or yes. but if she doesn't she has to tell you
