I work in a nursing home and know from experience that when an elderly person is acting that way they need to be seem by a doctor. It could be as simple as a bladder infection, believe me they do strange things to the elderly. Take her in!!

I think you better call 9-1-1 and get her to the ER, NOW! Take a list of all her Meds and the dosage. This could be very serious.

You have to be very careful. You had not mentioned her age. In very advanced age many people develop this syndrome. I know many such example. One of my friend's aged father would talk very logically just like any other normal person, but was too short on his memory. He would not remember his name or address. He was otherwise healthy. Some times such people get partially cured naturally. This behaviour is caused by partial loss of memory. In one incident a person was unable to remember his name etc and was lost. He was kept in govt. asylum. Fortunately, one day he saw a person whose name he remembered and he yelled to him from a window, and was united with his family.
Do not let her out alone. Somebody must be with her all the time. You have to personally ensure she takes food and medicines on time, every time. One has to take all care of such person just like we take of an infant.

Call 911. Period.

While you're waiting, try to find all her meds for them to look at.

Lymphoma drugs probably would not cause these types of mental lapses. Please go with her to the next available doctor visit! :-)=
