It was the war between Great Britain and Zanzibar. It happened in 1896, when English warships bombed the island of Zanzibar. They surrendered in an estimated time of 38 minutes. It was registered as the shortest war in the Guinness book of World records.

According to Wikipedia "The Anglo-Zanzibar War was fought between the United Kingdom and Zanzibar on 27 August 1896. With a duration of only 45 minutes, it holds the record of being the shortest war in recorded history."

For the war between the 2 South American countries, the participants are El Salvador and Hoduras. Yes, it was a football dispute that started the war.
