Unlike flying a Cessna begining with a Student Pilot Licence a helicopter pilot licence costs a lot of money. Flying a Cessna will cost you around INR 3600 or US$ 80 as compared to INR 7500 or US$ 150 an hour on the helicopter.

You will require at least 300 hours to earn your Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence. That is INR2250000 or US$ 50,000.

If you can afford a reputed foreign flying club (like in Austrailia, Canada) it will take around a year & half + you will have to clear a no. of exams in Meterology, Navigation, Airframe etc.

Otherwise, join Navy or Airforce in your country.

Or Start with Cessna and graduate to Helicopter Pilot Licence...

Come New Zealand it will cost you about $NZ80000 ($US48000) to get your Commercial CHPL and you will learn from the best in the world... and your licence is recognized all over the world
