Satan is a symbol for your own ego. If you worship your own ego, you will go to hell--which doesn't exist as a physical, down place, but is a state of mind, a condition of being, just like heaven is. We don't have to die to exist in heaven or hell. We can enjoy or suffer it right here on earth. Heaven is nearness to God, hell distance from Him. Hell, after physical death, is knowing what we should have done here, and didn't; and what we did here, that we shouldn't have. There, it is too late to do anything about it. Here, we have free choice; there, we don't. Our spiritual progress, there, is up to the grace and mercy of God, and the prayers of those left behind, here.

The question itself is false. It's like saying if it was the only way to hell would you worship God. It's non-sense.

Satan is a deceiver and a liar, and it's much like what he said to the first fully human beings: "You don't want to be humans, you want to be something you are not, so deny your humanity and be gods.

That's when the first humans broke their covenant with God, and lost the graceful state they had. The rest of humanity inherited it: the LOSS of grace. And Christ bought it back, for past and future.

I am not so much a human being seeking spirituality,

I am a spiritual being seeking my humanity
that pre-existed the Fall.

It can be done

by being in a state of sanctifying grace, which is not some whitewash, but a true transformation.

Maybe...but probably no. It would depend a lot on what kind of deity Satan claimed to be. Truthfully, I don't see much of a difference between the OT version of God and Satan. Basically, I don't care what kind of great afterlife was offered, I wouldn't worship any evil deity.

I would not worship an evil being like Satan is purported to be to get to heaven. I would not commit evil if that was the only way to get to heaven.

I suppose it would depend on the alternatives. If it could be conclusively shown to be true, then all that has happened is to rename god Satan.

If I knew such a being existed, and if I knew the consequences were great, and if I knew I had to worship this omninarcissistic being to avoid being tortured forever, then I would do it! I'm not stupid.

yes. i can't control my beliefs. but i can control my worshiping. and heaven is good, BY DEFINITION. people who say "i wouldn't like that type of heaven" aren't following directions. HEAVEN = GOOD, by definition. so, yeah, my answer remains "yes".

edit

man,, some of the people who answered this just don't understand the meaning of the word "IF". you guys are giving answers like "that's not how things are". and it's like,,, do you seriously lack the ability to play along with a hypothetical question????????

LEARN TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS, PEOPLE!! no one asked you if this is or isn't how things are. you were asked a yes/no question. just answer with yes, no, i don't know, or the question is to vague.

Didn't Satan get kicked out of Heaven?

Why would you even think of joining that LOSER?
