It means that they are members of a bloody cult. If you don't believe exactly the same way that they do, then you are going to "hell", and it's ok for them to send you there.

John 3:1-9
1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?”
Though if you read the whole of chapter 3 you get a better picture.
We are all born once from our mothers. Jesus wants us to be born again in the spirit.

YOU are a Spiritman living in a Body.
You are born with a messed-up Spiritman.
You have to get you (a Spiritman) Recreated to go to HEAVEN.
JESUS is the ONLY ONE WHO can RECREATE you.
JESUS has to have your Permission (Free-Will) to SAVE you.
If GOD allowed you to go to HEAVEN with-out getting Born-Again (Recreated) you would burn up like a bean on a hot stove, and cease to exist, if HE didn't Protect you while you were there. To stay there forever, you have to be Born-Again.

It means that when they tried to believe in religion the first time, it didn't take. Unfortunately they had such a weak character that they tried again. Now they are once again addicted to religion, hence "born again"

It is not a physical re birth: It is being born again in the spirit of God: It means we have repented to God of our sins,he has forgiven us,and we are striving to live a life acceptable to God ,with Jesus Christ as our example.

It means you start your life ALL over again as if you were a baby again. You toss your old way of living, thinking, and behaving and lead a brand new life. You also feel different about your new self, so do others. In a POSITIVE way.

personally, when i was born again, it meant that i made a personal conscious decision to relinquish control of my life to God. for me it was believing that God exists and finally admitting that I need Him. Saying sorry for wrong things done. and trusting Him that He has forgiven me, not because i am good enough but because i (actually all of us) am supposed to die, but i acknowledged that Jesus died instead of me. so now, in gratitude to the undeserved forgiveness, i live everyday of my life in such a way that He will be happy.
best decision in my life. being born again was like "finding freedom by surrending" =)

Its a great catch phrase that "we" use. Its based on the fact that to attract others christians should act differently than the normal population. As in we should be more concerned for others than ourselves, so that our actions make us different, and hopefully people will want to have what drives us.

you have to be born again to be able to get into heaven because flesh and blood cannot exist in heaven so you have to be born again in spirit to be able to exist in heaven but as for born again christian I don't understand why they say they are born again when they are still flesh and blood!so sorry I can't explain that one
