My daughter just turned a year old and has had three episodes of night terrors. I was on the verge of calling 911 in desperation on what was happening to my daughter, but after some research I realized night terrors were the cause. My fear now, is that it will link to SIDS since it is a sleep problem. Any advice or know of any articles on this topic?

The cause of SIDS is usually traced back to overuse of harsh cleaning chemicals in a baby's room or the house in general. There was no SIDS before man made chemicals.

from what i have heard, once a child is able to sit up on their own and roll over by them selves and such SIDS is no longer a threat. If she is one year old i wouldnt be concerned with SIDS. and honostly i dont think night terrors and SIDS are linked together in anyway.. I believe SIDS really is succifcation. The child rolls over can pick their own head up and blocks the air way and sufficates. Once they can pick their head up its no longer a threat becuase i fthey cant breath they move.. I am not positive thats right.. but.. im pretty sure its somthing close.

Honestly, night terrors are being caused by something she's waking up scared of; SIDS has no cause and generally happens to babies younger than one year old. If you are worried about her stopping breathing, etc. they have matress pad alarms which sound off when a shild stops breathing. Also, SIDS is more common in boys, kids whose parents smoke, and in a younger age group.
