Would America have attacked Iraq if Al Gore had been elected president?

just because you attack iraq here and there a little, doesn't mean you take over the entire country, and intend to liberate it. Small attacks here and there are less risky than all out war on an entire nation.

Doubtful. Cheney's focus was to find any info to go to war. That's been documented. I believe that had Gore won, we would have waited for disclosure of WMD and we would have waited for UN approval, not just gone in solo. Yes, we had a few allies but where are their troops, their money? We are spending millions daily (billions?) with no end in sight. Unfortunately, we'll never know for sure. I've seen Gore talk on these issues. I still appreciate his input on these subjects. He knows his stuff, that's for sure.

Probably not. I don't believe he would have had the courage and conviction to protect our country by taking the fight to the enemy. There would have been a lot of talk about sanctions and then appeasement...and no real response. I think a consequence of that inaction might have been 3 or 4 more September 11-type events, but no one could know that for sure.

BTW, I'm glad you recognize the fact that Al "I invented the internet" Gore lost the election.

Yes I think so. We tend to forgent now that Clinton did in fact attack Iraq (albeit in a small way). After 9-11 there was a strong push to "do something" even if it was the wrong thing. I doubt very much that Gore would have had a foreign policy radically different from GWB's.

No. Al's wife Tipper (yes that's her name) made it her business to tell us what music we could or couldn't listen to back when Al was a Senator. Imagine if we made her First Lady! Thing would've been so unbearable, we would've had to overthrow the government, just to stay free.

So, no. We would not have attacked Iraq if Gore had become president, We would've been at war here, instead.

Certainly not! Mr. Gore denounced the invasion before it was politically popular (and wise) to do so. I think he would have had good advisers tell him to start and finish the hunt for bin laden and defeat our enemies in Afghanistan.
