Do they have any less right calling that Christian a terrorist, than a Muslim that opens fire on innocent Christians in your neighborhood?

If so, why?

Murder is murder. Period. If you kill someone, then you are a murderer. It doesn't mean a damn thing if your government tells you to do it, or you just do it on your own; you're still a bloody murderer.

I am neither a christian or a muslim-nor a murderer.

Well, despite what professed Christians say, true Christians do not engage in killing or warfare (Isaiah 2:2-4; Matthew 26:52; 2 Timothy 2:24; 1 Corinthians 14:33)

A fraction of professed Christians are really true Christians (Matthew 7:13, 14, 21-23). The best way for Satan to cause confusion as to which religion is true is to make counterfeit Christian religions (Revelation 12:9; 2 Corinthians 11:14). True Christianity is the most beautiful thing on earth right now. Do not look for truth in the large mainstream religions. They are nothing more than large nets for the Devil to capture people. God's people are a minority (Matthew 7:14). True Christians speak of God's Kingdom that will bring about peace on earth (Psalm 46:8, 9; Isaiah 52:7; Acts 5:42)

well first of all, we should recognize what precisely a terrorist is. a terrorist is someone who installs terror. you can do that by killing no one. similarly, you could kill 100 people, but still not be doing it in a terroristic manner. i think the word you might want to use is "murderer". i mean,, i don't know. maybe not. but terrorist is definitely way too specific of a word.

if you want to figure out who is the murderer in this case, then you need to figure out where you stand on what is right and what is wrong.

for example, if you believe that allah wants all non-muslims killed, then you would probably say that a muslim who kills "innocent" people isn't really a murderer because the people aren't really innocent.

many people would say that both men in the examples you gave are murderers. i don't believe however that killing innocent people is automatically the wrong thing to do. and anybody else who says they DO believe that is either lying, not thinking, or doesn't understand how reality works.

for example,, any one who is in favour of the war in iraq cannot say that killing innocents is automatically wrong, because innocents are in fact being killed., as is the case with any war. in fact, war kills a lot more innocents than terrorism ever could.

so,, i can't give you my personal opinion (and yes, it is an opinion) on who's right or who's wrong unless i have the whole story.

i can tell you what i think about this war. i don't think it's going as well as i want it to., but i can't say that i'd be doing a better job at it. i definitely am in favour of iraqi occupation. i'm anti-genocide. i do not like tyrants or theocracies. it is extremely sad to me that some innocent people will die. however, i think it would be much worse if we allowed people like saddam hussein to continue killing, torturing, raping, stealing, and oppressing. he needs to be stopped. and we need to insure that kurds and other minorities in iraq not be killed and tortured anymore. this is the only way to do it. reality is sad.

This is difficult to answer. If a soldier who happens to be Christian kills an Muslim, then it can be called a war crime. The soldier may be under orders to shoot, bomb, whatever. The random Muslim terrorist does this .

I don't condone either, just splitting hairs here in the interest of defining "terrorist."

They have the equal rights..rather to be very honest...u dont see muslims opening fire on innocent christians that often as against the christians...muslime whereever thry sare fighting are fighting either for freedom or for religion and mostly against the militaries...not against the innocent citizens....quit unlike the US and allied armies who are killing thousands of inncoents in iraq, afghanistan, cheichnia...and in the past in bosnia, vietnam etc...the terrorism lies more with the west than the muslims...

Killing through military actions of a country doesn't fall under the definition of terrorism. Still, I would hope that any soldier (regardless of faith) would do all possible to prevent civilian casualties/deaths.

The way terrorism is unofficially defined by the UN (from wiki):

"* While the United Nations has not yet accepted a definition of terrorism [1], the UN's "academic consensus definition," written by terrorism expert A.P. Schmid and widely used by social scientists, runs:

Terrorism is an anxiety-inspiring method of repeated violent action, employed by (semi-) clandestine individual, group or state actors, for idiosyncratic, criminal or political reasons, whereby — in contrast to assassination — the direct targets of violence are not the main targets. The immediate human victims of violence are generally chosen randomly (targets of opportunity) or selectively (representative or symbolic targets) from a target population, and serve as message generators. Threat- and violence-based communication processes between terrorist (organization), (imperilled) victims, and main targets are used to manipulate the main target (audience(s)), turning it into a target of terror, a target of demands, or a target of attention, depending on whether intimidation, coercion, or propaganda is primarily sought," (Schmid, 1988). [2]

* UN short legal definition, also proposed by A.P. Schmid: an act of terrorism is the "peacetime equivalent of a war crime." [3]
* In November 2004, a UN panel described terrorism as any act: "intended to cause death or serious bodily harm to civilians or non-combatants with the purpose of intimidating a population or compelling a government or an international organization to do or abstain from doing any act." [4]"

So, if the christian soldier were acting outside of his orders with the sole purpose of killing a civilian Muslim...it could fall under the idea of what terrorism is...but would probably be called a war crime since the act occurred during military involvement.

There are different christians and different muslims; i dont think its right to use those words so loosely.

How can you lump all christians together when their are so many different beliefs even among them; and the same goes for muslims?

My form of christianity remains neutral to politics and government because we believe that Jehovah God and Jesus Christ are the answers to mankinds problems.

There are many muslims who do not follow the idea that these two religions are at war; and that this war is about "god".

Why can people not see that money and power and greed and veangence AND BLIND LEADING THE BLIND are the real reasons people are at war with one another.

WAKE UP

Definition of a terrorist is different than a soldier doing that.

The people being killed aren't innocent iraqis they are people who are fighting against democracy and the rights of women in Iraq. Terrorists want to get things done through fear. Whats being done in the US is removing those who want to rule through fear so that the people can rule themselves.

Depends...is the soldier there because the 2 countries are at war and he is representing and defending his country, or is he there because a few guys who do not actually represent the Muslim religion got together and decided to blow up 3000 people? Just wondering?

Well, it depends on the situation. What was the Christian soldier doing there? How did he kill the Muslim man? If he shoots at an actual criminal and misses, that is an accident. If he purposefully is shooting Muslims, that's a crime.

Depends. Depends on the circumstances.

You're a muslim woman and you hear someone breaking in and you have a gun nearby and you see a figure and you shoot and it turns out to be your husband. Are you a criminal?

No. You're alone and afraid.

One day we'll all be in that situation. A creek on the stairwell, you ask who's there and get no answer, a door opens. It's either a maniac or not. Who care. You shoot.

If you don't shoot and it's a maniac who comes in a rapes you then kills you, then what?

No Christian should be shooting a gun at anyone OUTSIDE OF THEIR OWN LAND.

No MUSLIM should be killing anyone OUTSIDE OF THEIR OWN LAND.

When a Muslim rams a plane into the World Trade center are they a criminal?

Well, speak up! Were those Muslims WRONG?

We want to hear you speak. We're tired of the silence!

IS ISLAM about blowing up TRAIN in England and BUILDING in America!?

If we want to be friends with both Jews and Arabs, it is right to kill us for likinig Jews?

Is that was Islam is about, killing us because we like and help Jews.

Do we not also like and help Arabs?

I still don't understand why we got on the BAD list for liking the Shaw (spelling error, sorry) of IRAN!

We let him come her to a hosptial, so IRAN holds our Embassy hostage?

That's is what ISLAM is about?

SPEAK UP.

We are tired of the silence!

IT is WRONG for CHRISTIANS TO GO OUTSIDE OUR LAND AND KILL ANYONE.

I am speaking, can you hear me!

I speak against our own!

It is WRONG.

Is it wrong to hurt us for liking the Shaw. For liking Jews.

SPEAK UP!

What, the Shaw is dying and we should say, GO ROT SOMEWHERE!

Let's face it. Islamics can be as ROTTEN as Christians!

I'm the first to admit I don't like Christian Soldier outside of their OWN HOMES AND LANDS.

Anyone comes here to terrorize my country, WE SHOOT BACK. That's cool.

I can understand your point of view, but SADDAM tried to screw over the Kurds.

Is it COOL to screw the KURDS

Speak up, the KURDS want to hear you!!!!

Did WE invade the Kurds?

Who invaded the Kurds

Sunni Islamics under Edict from SADDAM

Is it WRONG to like the KURDS!?

We try to like everyone, except maybe Castro.

Hell, look at us! We're building plants in COMMIE CHINA!

We ant to have trade with COMMIE VIETNAM

We want to work with EVERYONE, if it'll make us a buck!

Speak up, please. The Jews, the Kurds and all the families of people in the World Trade Center want to hear you!

They want to hear how peaceful Islam is, with your 72 virgins!

I said my peace. I don't think armies are very Christian!
