Salvation comes after remaining loyal to God and his commands (Matthew 24:13; Ecclesiastes 12:13)

This question has answer in two phases. The first part is that you can be saved anywhere, anytime. No action in the physical part is required. The Bible says in Acts 16:31 and Acts 2:37, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and You will be saved. That's all. Believe that Jesus is the son of God, sent to save mankind from their sins by dying on the cross, taking on the sins of the world and rising up again to be at the side of God and plead for sinner and their salvation.

The second part is the altar. Usually, preachers give an altar call. That is they would like to see the person who wants to accept Jesus as their personal Savior, to come to the altar so that they would guide them in the proper way and answer their doubts.
Going to the altar is purely by choice. If you have doubts and or not sure, then go to the altar and ask the preacher/priest/pastor to clear you doubts. Hope you are clear about salvation now.

You can be saved anywhere. You don't need the altar, church, a preacher, nothing. Just tell Christ you accept Him as your Savior and ask Him for forgiveness for your sins. The first Christians never had altar calls.

First Johnusmaximus does not know the Bible. Salvation is NOT of works, it is by Grace. You CANNOT keep the law... if you live by the lay 10 commandments, you will be judged by the law and you will be guilty unless you trust Jesus Christ, this is proven by the Bible's words.

If you are serious about this question, you can be saved anywhere!!! This topic is too important for these little threads, if you are serious visit www.beginningingenesis.com and click the slavation button, and feel free to email me! I will help you out best I can and will give you verses from the Bible for proof.

That's a perfectly valid question. There are those who believe that God requires us to fold our hands when we pray, or to do something first before he'll consider us. But the bible describes God as totally opposite of that. The whole point of being saved is that we can do nothing to earn Gods favor, he just gives it with no strings attached. There are people who give us things in life but there always seems to be a catch, some obligation. But Jesus said "I do not give as the world gives". So to make a long story short, wherever you are in life you are accepted by God now its up to you to believe that.

In my opinion, you can be saved and never walk through a church door. Your afterlife is decided by God and the things you have in your heart. A church is a tool for religion and the religious to gather and worship together, but in no means a requirement. I mean, did you ever see Jesus build a church? And they say He was a carpenter, right?

Being "saved" has absolutely nothing to do with being anywhere near a building. My father made a conversion in the middle of a rice paddy in Vietnam as he was injured and caught in a cross-fire. The ONLY person able to make it out to him was the priest they were escorting around. They talked of baseball, and the weather, and politics, and everything except religion.
I was born shortly before this, and had never been baptised, as my father was Lutheran and my mother was Catholic. When he came home, I was baptised, and raised in a strong faith in The Lord and was raised to follow His teachings.
It all started with my father who turned his life to G-d in the furthest place from a church.

If you are sitting in the bleachers at a Cubs game, and decide to turn your life over to Him... you can consider yourself "saved".

You are only saved IF you endure to the end.

Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

That is what Yahshua said, regardless of what is taught in church about 'salvation'. You won't need an alter, you will need to be armed with the truth of what is happening right before His return in order to endure to the end, and unfortunately you will not get it in 99% of the churches today.

If at first you hear about salvation and you feel it is neccessary........ and the preacher or ministers calls you to the alter...
then you need to forget your dignity to go to the alter because Jesus died on the cross for us un the public place so as you to go to the alter to confess and save your self in front of every one...

but if you realise your sins and need you to be save at any place and at any time there is no abstacle...

God bless you

Anywhere, someone can push you out of the way of a semi in the street, or perform CPR after you almost drowned at the beach...
