If there is a heaven, who will get in? An agnostic who has lived a moral life, never turning his back on those who needed help? A priest who is convicted of molesting of several young boys and accused by many more? An atheist whose life was spent providing food and medical care for hundreds of thousands of the world's poor? A preacher who extorts funds from his working-class congregation to make payments on his new Mercedes? A Christian politician who uses the Bible as a weapon against human rights?

I think if there is a God to go with that heaven then only He can judge who goes where.

Since you didn't mention a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in your descriptions of those you put forth as possible residents of Heaven, I'd have to say none of the above. Of course, the last option, 'a Christian politician who uses the Bible as a weapon against human rights' (if we take the term 'Christian' to mean what it does in the Bible -- a follower of the Biblical Jesus and, therefore, an adopted child of God), then it would be this person simply because of their relationship with Christ.

Of course, the argument could be made that the so-called Christian in this example really isn't a Christian at all because he/she is working against human rights. If that was the case (i.e., if the person had simply adopted the classification of 'christian' for political might) then he/she wouldn't enter Heaven either because they wouldn't be a child of God.

Finally, if the priest in the example simply faces accusation but has never really molested those who accuse him and, if the priest in question is a true Christian, then he would enter into Heaven (again because of relationship).

As a side note, depending solely on the Bible as the authority for who gets into Heaven and who doesn't, neither the agnostic or atheist would make it because of the lack of a relationship with Christ.

So, it all comes down to relationship with Jesus, according to the Bible.

I totally agree with Janntoo

Course as it says: "If the World hates you (Christians) keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world (thought its ways), it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." john 15:18-19

That is why you all dog on us Christians instead of rapists, murderers, child molesters. Because we think different from you and don't believe the same as you do. And you also hate us because we care for your souls and know that those who say "I will deal with death when it happens" or "I'll just go to Hell" do not understand what they are asking for or will get. They think they will understand. Read Luke 16:19-31 (course even though I suggest you read it, I know you won't.) And what the world doens't realize how us Christians cry for you who decide to go to Hell willingly. It grieves us greatly to know someone would chose pain, and torrment beyond what they can phathom and understand over peace and joy.

Childbirth, ask a mother who has gone through childbirth what it feels like delivering that baby. They will tell you its not a walk in the park, but that its painfull. Now ask moms who have had childbirth without medicine. Its almost murder doing it that way, the pain is so great that very few mothers repeat such a process and would demand medicine the next time.

Hell's pain is worse than that. Take that pain (the second childbirthing without medicine) multiply that 10 billion times over, make someone go through that every day, every second of the day for the rest of their life and you can only glimpse into what Hell is going to be like. That doesn't even scratch the surface of the Pain of Hell.

May God get ahold of you before his return.

clever - but your views are clouded and clearly you group people together and list a standard for each which do not match. to save time I will give you one example to make my point. An Atheist, I know three personally one my own brother. He is a firm Atheist and has been one for over 20 years he never provided for anyone including himself he would not urinate on another Atheist to put them out if they were on fire. He has stolen from old people who couldn't afford to eat and he rape you in a heartbeat as from what he has told me behind bars all women need raped so they know men rule this earth. the other two are basically god haters who do not care about anyone. Now I am not saying all Atheist are bad people I am sure there are some that help like you say. But they all are not. My point being just because there are some good in each of your groups there are also bad. Before you completely trash others for not believing like you do maybe you should meet more people and learn their ways because your fact promote hate and will do nothing but show you do not know what you speak.

First of all what is heaven you mean? There are many heavens. When a person is happy he always say he is in heaven. When some are high on drugs he/she says she's in heaven. So in other words, for many heaven means a state of intoxicating feeling of joy.

You should study about "heaven". You mean a place wherein you live with God? Then you must perfect your heart in order to stay with God. But in order to possess that heart, you must first learn about God in the deepest sense. That is to answer the fundamental questions of life & the universe; that is:
1. Is there really God? Then What is God?
2. Why did God create Man?
3. What is the purpose of Man's life?
4. What is the next life?
etc.

I think the phrases "get into heaven" or "go to heaven" miss the whole point. Let's say you were wealthy man and owned a mansion on a beatiful estate and you met a woman and decided to marry. But the bride secretly in her heart said "I can't wait to get into that house!" and dreamed about it more than simply enjoying the company of her husband, don't you think the groom would be dissapointed if he knew this? Heaven is a side benefit of being in the company of Jesus, but it's not the goal.

Do you not get, that the reason they try to tell you, is really because they care?? They think (know/are convinced) you are gonna suffer a horrible fate for all eternity and it hurts their hearts..

You need to lighten up on Christians. Contrary to popular belief being Christian does NOT, I repeat NOT, make us perfect. We are far from Perfect. We are animal human and do animal human things. Wrong and right.. Just like every other animal human.. Only Jesus was perfect.. There are no, and never will be any perfect humans..

We are taught to love everyone, We really do try, It is really hard to love some folks....... {:-).... Why is it so hard for you to just accept the love and wish them equally well, but no thanks?

It is not wrong to be polite to your fellowman or woman.. You should at least extend them the common courtesy you extend to any other living being. It is OK to disagree...

What exactly is your point with this question?? It is redundant and certainly getting old on this site. Please folks something original for awhile..

Can`t we skip on ahead to pick on the murder`s, child molestors, thieves, purse snatchers, rapists, wife beaters?

Isn`t there enough bad going on in the world to find something else to argue about.. PULEASE....

God bless & Hugs from Texas. {:-)

If there were a heaven, God would let anyone who believes that Jesus was the son of God in. So basically you could be raping, serial killing Christian, and you'd get into heaven. But an atheist who lives a perfectly good life would be sent to hell. This is that all-loving God for you. And this is all hypothetical, of course.

None. Jesus says you deny him before man and he will deny you before his father. All these people while s0ome do good things dont do the things that should matter in life. While I agree some people in the chruch are corrupt, I'd like to point out that life has alot of currupt people in it. The ones who belive in god and and do the right things are the ones you move on into heaven.

Excellent point. I'm an atheist and I don't care that I'm supposedly destined for a life in hell. I know I've lived a life helping those I can and making my own choices, so I really couldn't care less what happens when I'm dead as long as I've made a good contribution in life.
