I would not buy a Ford card. There is an old saying about Ford - Fix Or Repair Daily....

I would say yes for many reasons. They are great on gas mileage because of their size. Insurance would be cheaper for a Ford as opposed to a Honda, a foreign car (I've asked my insurance company). Since you'd be buying a 2006, most everything would be under warranty so if something should break or go out, you wouldn't have to pay for it. Because of the engine, it's hard to race in so you wouldn't be getting speeding tickets!!! If you do buy one, do your homework before hand about paying for it. If you have a bank account, you may be able to get a better loan with your bank than an actual car dealer. Also, depending on your age, you might need a cosigner so you might want to ask your family beforehand. One last thing, don't buy the first car you test drive!!! Shop around, and let the car salesman help you, but not push you around.

I am actually looking at buying one in the near future. I think they are nice looking car, good for families and road trips, cheap on gas, and cheap on the wallet. BUT, my friend went to buy one just recently, and her dad told her to check out Toyota first. She got a brand new 2006 Corolla for the exact same price as the Focus was going to cost her. And the Corolla is definately better than the Focus. So, if you are seriously looking at buying a new vehicle, check out all the cars in direct competition as the Focus, such as the Corolla and Echo from Toyota, Pontiac Grand Am, Chevy whatever they make etc. Remember tho, that the Sunfire and Cavalier are a step below this class and are much much cheaper.

The Focus was the only American car last year that made Consumer Reports Best Pick list. It also comes with a100 thousand mile power train warranty. And it is much easier on the wallet when it comes to maintenance than it's Foreign competitors . Contrary to popular belief [ apparently to many of this forums "experts"] it has very good resale value, compared to other vehicles in its class. also gets good gas mileage, is unbelievably roomy inside, affordable , and really fun to drive, not to mention well built.......but don't take my word for it ......drive it !!! Rent one or go to a dealer and test drive it and/or ask other Focus owners. All of the Focus owners that I know , like them , and I don't see them in for service problems often.

If you are looking for something that is good with gas mileage maybe try considering the Honda Fit it looks better than a Focus to me and it isn't that expensive. Since it's a Honda you know it should last you until you want a new car.

Fords are bad. They constantly fall apart, and you end up spending more money repairing them in the long run. All in all, I'd stay away from domestic cars. Imports are much more reliable.

Go for a Honda. Better gas mileage and better brakes. Ford brakes are the worst.
