If I'm wearing shoes, everything is good. But if I take them off and try to walk on pavement, rocks, etc., they are so sensitive, I can barely move. I've tried going without shoes, but they callouses form and thats not pretty. Any other suggestions?

You have yourself a little predicament here. You say your feet are too sensitive to walk without shoes, and that if you do anyway then you end up with callouses. If you keep walking around shoeless then eventually your feet will toughen up, but they probably won't look very good. Sometimes you can't have it all. If you like the feeling of being barefoot outside then stick to soft suraces like grass. Try wearing flip-flops. That's almost as good as being barefoot.

Sounds like you are in a Catch 22 situtation - either put up with ugly callouses or wear shoes.

A suggestion might be to wear flip-flops often, to give "even callous" to your feet. They will eventually toughen up more than they already are. Wearing socks and tennis shoes always is a sure way to give you sensitive feet.

Wear shoes. Always. There is so much nasty stuff on the ground, do you really want to go without protection? even in the water at the beach, or where ever. the only time it is acceptable without is at the swimming pool, where you can still where your flip flop to the edge of the pool.
I found out the other day that we can catch up to 60 diseases from bird droppings alone, 4 of them deadly.
I'd rather die of natural causes with soft feet, then from bird crap and callouses on my feet!

Walk around without shoes more. Your feet get used to it. I remember noticing this at the beginning of every summer when I was a kid; then by the end of summer I could walk on broken glass without batting an eyelash.

You need to harden up your feet. In the old Army Days they would have told you to soak your feet in warm urine at night for ten minutes.

Pine-sol Floor wash does the same thing and you know you can put your hands in it if you get down to scrub the floor so it won't kill you.

Also bleach if you think that you have a fungal infection cause this can make your feet sensitive. Test this first in dilute quantities as it will kill off fungal infected skin and can leave your feet quite red and raw for a couple weeks. If you have a bad case of fungus.

Age. Age. Age. Your feet are getting OLDER. Check in with a poditrist and get custom made orthotics for your feet. My feet were driving me crazy and then I got the inserts for my shoes and my feet are happy again!

As your feet age, your arches shift and flatten out a bit. Not flat feet, but flatter. Your center of gravity shifts and your feet, legs and back get thrown out of allignment.

If you are female, that means get rid of those spikey heels! If you are a guy, get very supportive shoes.
Nothing trendoid for guys or gals with foot problems.

Also get pedicures for your callouses. Wear shoes. Your feet will be happier if they are protected from the elements.

I would suggest getting some jazz shoes. What they are is basically a piece of leather with little elastics to go around your ankle and middle toe to keep the piece under your foot. It just keeps you from being right on the ground. Jazz dances use them for added traction on stage.

You either get callouses, or you put your shoes on. Until you develop a method of teleportation or levitation you will need to choose one or the other sorry.
