Cats definitely dream. Happy dreams are dreams with lots of purring and a big Cheshire cat smile on their face. They are probably dreaming of catching that pesty mouse and bringing it home for you. They may even be dreaming of another kitty or the caring, loving person who gives them treats and goodies. The barking dog dream is a real nightmare for cats. If they wake up and just want to be cuddled and loved they probably just had a nightmare.

Uh....cute little cheese mice that are slow so that the cats can catch them, then the cat eats the cheese mice. And while the cat is picking his teeth he hears soft mouse music and then like, a million dudes in mouse costumes come in and serve the kitty little cheese mice on little decorated toothpics and feed them to the kitty like a servent does a god. Hehe, that's the best I could come up with.

Cats also recall previous experiences; vanishing when the flea-spray appears. They also remember things they've seen - like how to open catflaps after watching other cats doing it. Scenes from wildlife programmes or 'video catnip' tapes, where the prey is tantalisingly out of reach, may well feature in feline dreams.

They dream about their formidable exploits; how they cleverly stalk nervous and watchful prey- waiting, pushing forward, slowly but surely moving closer and closer, until just the right moment when they burst forth like a dam breaking and overwhelm their carefully selected target. Then the feast begins, followed by sweet and sated slumber, off to a dream within a dream of their glorious accomplishments.

Judging by the mouth and paw twitches, they seem to deal mainly with catching and eating little critters.
