I have a niece that my sister adopted. She was actually my foster daughter. She is adorable and happens to look just like her adoptive family....she has blue eyes and dark hair like her dad. I wanted to adopt all of my foster kids!!!! Going through an agency to foster and/or adopt is also faster and much less expensive. Foster parent have priority if and when rights are terminated for the natural parent/s. I saw three adoptions go through successfully (I chose the parents) as I fostered 10 children in a four year period). My sisters were adopted and they are no different than my biological sisters. God places these children where they should be!!! Good Luck!

I am in the progress of adopting a little boy who is 2. We have had him from 2mos till now. He is as much my child as the ones I gave birth too. Adoption from your local social services department usually don't cost anything. Many children already in need of a good home and just waiting for someone to love them.

Personally, I would rather adopt a child rather than having one myself. There are so many children out there who need families and homes. Keep in mind that you could always try fostering a child if you decide that you don't want to adopt.

To me having children is extremely important. If for some reason I wasn't able to have children of my own I would definitely adopt. I would sell a kidney to get enough money to complete the adoption process.

I grew up with two adopted cousins and another cousin who has grown up to adopt two kids..... It is an incredible way to expand a family. My "adopted" cousins were and still are 32 years later totally part of the family and I am going to love watching my other cousins two grow up. Blood doesn't make a family love does.

Have not adopted but I would if I were in a position to. There are many beautiful children out there needing a home and many wonderful families in need of children.

Adopting is a funny thing really (no offense). It can be very complicated. My teacher tried to adopt, but the family of the girl took her back. She was heart broken, although she's still in touch with her.

well, I am only 18, so i haven't had any experience with this yet, however I know that in the future I would like to adopt... there are so many children out there without homes, and your children are just as much yours if they are adopted as they are if they are biologically related to you

I am adopted and its the best thing my birth-mom could have done for me. I grew up with a great family with one brother (also adopted) we were told were adopted from the beginning, that it made us no less special, and neither one of us ever had an issue with it.

Two of my children are adopted and it is the best thing we ever did. Ours wasn't the norm adoption though as they are brother and sister and my husband's biological niece and nephew. Long story short, his sister didn't want them, liked drugs too much. But they are wonderful children and I thank god every day for bringing them to us.
