When you bring home a baby it sleeps most of the time too... this is totally normal. This breed isn't a hyperactive dog, they are companion dogs and just want to be with you wherever you are. Make sure to really do your research on this breed. They need responsible owners.

Yes, as long as he is eating and playing. That is awfully young still. Most 5 week old puppies are still nursing a little. I would take him to the vet for a checkup too.

apparently you did not get this puppy from a reputable breeder otherwise he would still be with his mother. He should not be away from her till he is at least 8 weeks old, he is not learning how to be a puppy with out those weeks with siblings and mom to teach him. I hope you do not run into any problems with him but it is very likely because no one who really loves these dogs would ever let one this young go so soon.

For starters, he needs to go back to his mother for 2 to 3 more weeks. At the very least, to the vet for a check up. Puppies sleep alot...enjoy THAT part of it; it will change soon !

Being removed from his mother and littermates, and I'm assuming he's the only dog now.....he has nothing to play with.
Also, I don't know where you got this puppy from, but they released him way too early.
Puppies should not be re-homed until they are 8-12 weeks old. 12 weeks is the more preferable number.
That way they are up to date on their puppy shots.

Yes! It is normal don't worry there is nothing wrong with your pup, just think of it as an infant, infants sleep most of the day. When my friend Jenn got a lab she was always angry her pup slept because all she wanted to do was play with it lol!

p.s. i h0pe you enjoy your new pup, take care of it!!! <33

Yeah puppys are very active, but they also need to rest. So let your puppy sleep for awhile...and after he wakes up take him out for a walk. You don't want any accidents happening!
