A dog will urinate when held or petted because the are being submissive most of the time. They can also do the same when excited. Most of the time they grow out of that phase but in some cases they may do it for it years.

Don't hold her. Dogs are supposed to be on the floor, not in your arms. Soon enough all these damn toy dogs will be born with mush for legs because people keep carrying them arround. Put your Yorkie on a leash and let nature take it's place. (on a tree)
good luck - he's excited and has a small bladder.

This is the best and the most real answer: It is called submissive urination. It's common in dogs. Ask your veterinarian about it.

If this is a new problem that just started, go to a vet. Changes in pet's behavior and potty training may be signs that she is sick.
She might have a bladder infection. It is better to be safe than sorry.

She gets over excited to see you... really... try and take her for a walk and pet her after she goes to the bathroom. Don't hold her until she calms down.

My dachshund does it too! My vet told me it's simply because she's a little dog, and gets so excited by the attention, she just loses bladder control! Haha. :-)

It is most likely excitement but, if you have had her for a while and she has never done this before, take her to the vet to be sure that she doesn't have a urinary tract infection.

My best guess is that the dog is either afraid that you are going to drop her or very excited about contact with you.
You choose!
