If not who is?

Serious answers please! nothing like elvis, John Lennon, Fred Flinstone etc..very funny but only serious answers please!

Of course God..so other than God.

One Solitary Life

Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village. He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
He never owned a home. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put His foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself...
While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – His coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.
Nineteen long centuries have come and gone, and today He is a centerpiece of the human race and leader of the column of progress.
I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built; all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.

Interesting question. He is only famous in the sense that people have heard of him. However, nobody knows what he looked like since there are no photos or videos of him. Nobody knows for sure what he said and did because the gospels contradict each other in their accounts of his life. And even the gospels dont discuss his life from age 13 to 30. If Jesus ever wrote anything, it is entirely unknown. So in a great sense, Jesus' fame is a very "virtual" fame, with significant aspects of his life that are the opposite of famous: unknown.

By contrast, the pop singer Madonna is instantly recognizable by her face and her voice to hundreds of millions (if not billions) of people world-wide. The mass media of our modern world have allowed her to communicate in her own words with her own voice via song, videos, books, movies, talk-show appearances, etc to more people each week than Jesus talked to in his whole life.

Famous... I personally wouldn't use the word. Most well known... okay. Person who had the highest impact in this world, yes.

Jesus Christ split time in half. BC and AD. That is pretty huge.
There is also a Book written about Him that is still the most read book in the world.

The answer would depend on your definition of "famous". If it means who most people have know or do know about, he would not be. The number of Budhists and Islamists far outnumber Christians. In my opinion he is the most famous yes. Try asking the question that would leave out objectivity.

U know. at one time it was Mohammad. At another time, it was Albert Einstien. Right now, I think it is Osama bin Laden or George Bush whatever u have it. Or it could be Harry Potter

I'm quite serious. Times change n so do traditions n so do famous people. U can't stick to one

Have you seen the film..."The God Who Wasn't There"? perhaps you should check it out!

Fictional characters and mythical Gods don't qualify I'm afraid!

Jesus was probably the most famous fictional celebrity crucifixee of all the unknown thousands who were in fact crucified.

Sorry I can't back this by quoting a source, but in evangelical circle's it's known that presently, there is no people group on the planet who hasn't heard about jesus. So I guess that means everybody's heard of him. That counts, doesn't it?
