I've found some to be very smart by paying attention to our culture and trying to blend in. But as for the vast others out there wandering around out there with that dazed look, well let's just say all you people out there hammerring out racist on your key board...I'll bet you could spot one a mile away and know theres a 90% chance there fresh off the border. Can you tell a fish out of water? I've been around and have met thousands of illegals and Hispanic Americans, and have friends that are one or the other. So pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssseeeeeeeee give the racial profiling smoke screen a rest. It's not personal, it's buisiness. Check em' and send em'!

Can we solve this problem more rationally, like with a patrolled border? I think racial profiling's a joke, I think what's needed is clear and unmistakable legislation from the House that directly addresses Mexico, because Mexico's the biggest thorn in our collective side on this illegal immigration issue, and that legislation should state, in no uncertain terms, that we're going to be deporting people that are in the US illegally from that country. Plain, simple, and straightforward, no ambiguity, no negotiations, no wiggle room, just put it on paper in black-and-white, go make 2000 copies and post one per mile along the border, send one to mexico city, send one to every major city in the US, send one to all the police departments, and to the ICE, and to everyone else, and let's just get it over and done with.
Fence, notification, deportation, and get Mexico to sign a new border treaty with the United States. If they won't sign, then it'll be one-sided enforcement. If they DO sign, then we can talk about sending them foreign aid etc. But, either way, the border needs to be enforced. This has all gotten very, very stupid....

Actually I can. Many do have the dazed looked ( how would you look if people were hunting you because you wanted a better life?) but it is also the way they dress. I live in South Texas and many people here even the Anglos speak some Spanish and the advertizing and many newspapers are in Spanish so communication is not that big a problem.

No your right, you cant tell if someone is illegal.
I have met some that go to college paid for by American tax payer and do very well for themselves. But at least some have gotten a college degree and contribute to society with their dollars and as consumers.
Its more than I can say about some American citizens, which get on welfare and milk the system, its wrong both ways to take advantage of the welfare system, both take advantage of the system because the system allows it, now who's to blame?

I agree to a point. Illegals should not be in this country, however, it's the illegals that are not producing the cultural, societal benefits that should not be in this country. Those who are illegals, but obey the laws, other than the immigration, should be given a chance to apply for citizenship.

Point taken but ....if they don't look or act like illegals and they do blend in ....they certainly are less of a problem.
People who care ...blend in. Want to act and look like citizens. People who are here for a free ride and not very capable/savy by deffinition of the fact they are illegally here in the US, don't put any/much effort in blending in.
If you come here and fool me into thinking you are a citizen; shame on you!
If you come here and make no effort to fool me, show me you are here illegally by speaking only Spanish, forging documents, driving without a license/insurance, use our healthcare system and have your babies here at our cost, educate your children at our expense, compete with us for goods and services, housing etc. and I we allow you to stay ...SHAME ON US.
Americans ...we are in a state of shame. Send the obvious Illegals back and the smart ones, we will find in good time. This problem didn't occurr overnight. It will take time but we can and will eliminate the illegals here now and stop others of their kind from coming in the future.

The only ones you can tell off the bat are the ones who appear lost and unaware of cultures. Those are the obvious ones. Other then that, No, you cant.
I just have a hard time with Cops not asking for papers when they do find a Mexican or Central American national. They should ask and they should deport them if they are not here legally....

You can't, but you can make a fun game out of it. Here is how you play:
1. Go to an ARMY NAVY store and buy some BDU's. (regular camo is the most appropriate)
2. Look around in the store for some "BORDER PATROL" patches. Most of these stores have them since they are owned by true Americans.
3. Sew them on BDU's
4. Go to your local Swap Meet, doctors office, Home Depot, etc...
5. Yell very loudly "LA MIGRA!!!"
6. Run around appearing to chase people down.
7. Stop when you run out of breath, or are laughing too hard.
8. Repeat as necessary!!!
